Mother Confused on Why She Couldn’t See Son After He was Shot Trying to Rob CPL Holder

Cynthia Quinn was upset that police would not let her see her son, Sanchez Quinn, who was shot after trying to rob a CPL holder at gunpoint. (Photo: Fox2)

Cynthia Quinn was confused. When the Detroit mother heard that her son, Sanchez Quinn, had been shot and rushed to Henry Ford Hospital, she wanted to visit him to make sure he was okay.

But after she entered her son’s hospital room, police immediately told her to leave.

“When I went to my son’s room I was stopped by two police officers (who) told me to get out of my son’s room,” she says. “‘Why you here? You can’t be here.'”

She called local news affiliate Fox2 to complain about the situation.

“All I want to do is see my son to see if he’s alright,” she said to the station.

Police kicked Quinn out of the room because her 29-year-old son was under arrest after trying to rob two men at gunpoint earlier that day outside a Super X Market on the city’s east side.

What Sanchez didn’t realize or expect when he spotted his victims is that one of the two men was a law-abiding concealed carry permit holder who had a sidearm on his person.

When Sanchez approached the two men with his gun drawn, the CPL holder quickly reacted, moving the perp’s gun out of the way and drawing his own.

“I turned and looked and saw the other gentleman had a gun pointed at my face,” the man told Fox2 News. “I was able to knock his hand down and the gunfire rang out.”

The CPL holder managed to shoot Sanchez, knocking him down.  But in the crossfire, the CPL’s cousin was hit four times.

Both Sanchez and the CPL’s cousin are expected to survive their injuries.

“It makes me mad because you have people out here that work every day. They are innocent; you want to take from them,” the CPL holder said. “These guys, I definitely feel don’t need to be back out on the street because someone else might get hurt and it might happen in a different way.”

Police said that the investigation is ongoing. However, it appears based on the available facts that this was a clear-cut case of lawful self-defense.

You can not blame the Mother for what her grown son did. If he was in regular jail, she would be allowed to see him. She should be allowed the see him in the hospital. Although he got actually what he deserve. People work hard and are just making ends meet and this clown tried to take it, He should be having his funeral instead of using our taxes to care for him.

    • Ryan October 30, 2017, 8:02 am

She has no right to see him in a hospital. If he was in jail he can have his visitation privileges suspended for a multitude of reasons. However if he was in jail visiting they are in a secure facility. A hospital is not secure, there are a couple officers and plenty of hospital staff at risk. After douche bag heals and is in jail she can go visit him there.

  • Jonny5 October 24, 2017, 6:40 pm

I’d have liked to have seen Sanchez take a round to the face. That’ll learn him.

  • LJ October 23, 2017, 9:26 pm

She’s lucky she’s not ‘seeing him’ in a coffin!

  • D Day Dog October 23, 2017, 2:45 pm

Its normal for any mother to want to see their children when they’re hurt. There is no denying what is normal and imbedded in us as humans. That being said, most jurisdictions don’t allow anyone to see people that are in custody at hospitals who have (or will be) charged with attempted murder. As next of kin, she could have asked for (and probably did ask for) a prognosis by the medical facility. If she didn’t, then she should have. Although that doesn’t take the place of a mother’s instincts – but at least it’s something to let her know where he son’s health is at. However, to go to the press and complain about it wasn’t warranted to me and was a desperate attempt by her to get some public outcry. To me, that was an attempt to make an “issue” out of it whether racially motivated or just an attempt to circumvent laws, etc. People need to accept that most laws in place are there for a good reason. Moreover, the perpetrator is 29 years old. By anyone’s account that’s the age of a man. As such, he is fully responsible for his actions unless he is mentally handicapped, which does not appear to be the case from first impression. Given this, he deserves the maximum of what the law can give him. To place someone’s life in jeopardy for the paper in their pocket is ridiculous. The victims had every right to defense themselves. Their actions may have been a bit out of control in the ensuing gun fight, but I wasn’t there, and adrenalin and fight or flight survival instincts make you react more than think a lot of the time. I feel bad for the victims, but I feel nothing for the perpetrator. There is always a better way than robbery to improve your situation. God will judge him one day.

I can\’t blame the mother. She created this person inside her body and birthed him. That he is a worthless wretch of humanity and a waste of space is not her fault. Every person must take responsibility for their own failures at some point in their lives 29 years of age is past that point. So as far as I\’m concerned she can go out and say \”he whad a good boyah he dindu nuffin\” but hes still a piece of offal.

  • Mike H. October 21, 2017, 8:36 pm

Her son got what he deserved ,but regardless of that,a Mother’s love for her child is the strongest instinct that humans have. And not just humans. Any animal mother will defend to the death her offspring. You can’t blame his mother for wanting to check on her son. I once saw a photograph of a hen quail spreading her body and wings over her chicks during a brushfire. She was burned and dead but her chicks survived. That is an example of a Mothers love. So,maybe you should give his mom a break!

  • mtman2 October 21, 2017, 11:05 am

Looked like once that pistol was knocked away –
both “victims” should have grabbed that robbers arm and extracted the pistol(then done some serious clubbing to insure compliance).
That running around blasting away was ridiculous and others could have been inadvertently shot from either one’em. Meanwhile his friend ran into the line of fire. Just my take away…

    • Wzrd October 22, 2017, 10:15 pm

Same thoughts as you & I’m curious who shot the cousin. The robber or the cpl?

  • Frank Smith October 21, 2017, 12:50 am

The only thing I find disturbing is the statement in the final sentence in the article, ” this was a clear-cut case of lawful self-defense.”. When did anyone ever come up with the ludicrous idea that self defense is a unlawful act? Are we not guaranteed this very idea under the Bill of Rights, “nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law”. You always have had and always will have the right to defend yourself against all threats to your life with the use of deadly force by yourself if needed.

  • Onthe Wall October 20, 2017, 8:42 pm

We need 1 more law. A law to force-ably sterilize people like her!

  • Roy Burton October 20, 2017, 7:56 pm

I usually enjoy reading comments on Guns America. I have to say that I am a little ashamed of the obviously racist comments that I have read here today. Sure the suspect was black in this instance, but so was the law abiding gun owner. This could have just as easily been some method out white trash.

    • Dr. Strangelove October 21, 2017, 5:24 am

Unfortunately, there are no moderators to take out the trash on many of these otherwise fine sites.

….Are the NBA and the NFL going to kneel after the legal gun owner shot the Black Criminal Thug!!??……That’s the reason they been doing the kneeling, because the Police is being shooting all this Black Criminal Thugs!!,….and claim the Police is Racist!!,…..I guess this CPL holder is also Racist!!,…

  • Guido October 20, 2017, 6:25 pm

I\’m confused, too, Cynthia…Does the carpet match the drapes?

  • hoochbear October 20, 2017, 12:00 pm

Pass another law, one banning hooded sweatshirts. 😉 At least a law outlawing crimes while wearing hooded sweatshirts with the hood up.. 😉 Mandatory 1 year sentence. And sweatshirt manufacturers, you should sue the perp for giving your product a bad name. 😉 .

    • hoochbear October 20, 2017, 12:09 pm

I can see it now. Lawyers for the ‘hoodlums lawyering up to sue for diss-crimination. Dissing wearers of hooded gear. ” A person should be able to rob, steal, rape or kill wearing any clothing they please.” . :-O! Give me a break!

Dontcha love how poor pitiful mommy only gave a narrow side of the story. Obviously trying to create a bad cop scenario to divert attention away from her criminal son. By the way, where’s daddy?

    • Glenn61 October 21, 2017, 6:36 am

yeah,,, That mother is one repugnant looking creature.

  • David Clark October 20, 2017, 10:55 am

This guy was shot because he was threatening the life of another. This is what burns me up about these multi-millionaires disrespecting, me(Viet Nam vet)my flag and our anthem. She, I’m sure, had no idea WHY her son turned out to be such a PoS. 70% of Black babies are born of unwed mothers, in many cases the birth certificate shows NO Father, how many could have been the father? Suffice to say “Many”. You know why prisons have a disproportional number of Black inmates? Because Blacks commit a disproportionate number of crimes.

    • RJB October 21, 2017, 10:01 am

David Clark, BINGO, not much else needs to be added to you’re comment.

  • Dan October 20, 2017, 10:29 am

Please, call or write your legislators, and encourage them to institute sterilization programs for welfare recipients. If you can’t afford to raise them, you can’t afford to have them. Why are taxpayers subsidizing indiscriminate breeding among unproductive populations? And don’t say it’s the Liberals – ALL of our politicians are working for, and advancing the interest of, the corporation who pay for their campaigns – not us!

  • Dan October 20, 2017, 9:57 am

This video illustrates why CPL holders should receive more training. It looked like the four bullets in his cousin probably came from his gun. If there had been women and children walking by at the time, they may have been victims of his panicked spraying of bullets, and this would have been a story used by the anti-gunners to show why we are not better off having the right to defend ourselves!

    • Jesse Scott October 20, 2017, 10:57 am

You base your comments just on this video…and even then without really knowing. You are no better than the anti-gunners.

      • G. Giant October 20, 2017, 11:55 am

Not at all. Training for gun use, had he had any would have instructed him to be away of others who could be hit. He just pulled the trigger. And it looks fairly certain that he shot his cousin. A good shoot? Not at all.

  • Dan October 20, 2017, 9:46 am

It’s a good thing the CPL holder was Black or Detroit would be burning!

    • Tommie N Thompson October 20, 2017, 10:28 am

That’s no lie! If the robber that been shot by a white man or a cop. The narrative would have different, even with a video as evidence.

  • Kelley October 20, 2017, 9:38 am

Reading all the information and then watching the tape it is pretty clear that that the victim of the robbery was very confident in his ability to defend himself and he was very quick thinking. It is so nice to see a good guy get the best of a want-to-be-bad-guy.
But the police officers that were stationed outside the hospital room could use a refresher coarse in common courtesy and explain to the mother the condition of her son and why they can’t let her into the room. I am a retired police officer of thirty years service and I know how far a little consideration goes. She might not be up for mother of the year award but she is still his mother. Just Saying.

    • erik October 20, 2017, 10:44 am

      you are a decent man

    • John Anonomus October 20, 2017, 11:02 am

While the victim may have been confident he wasn’t very competent and had his cousin died or an innocent gotten hit by his indiscriminate firing the Media would be singing a different tune.
How do you know they didn’t use courtesy and explained it to her? Maybe this ghetto rat just cant take no for an answer, black privilege ya know (laws and rules don’t apply). Go run to the media and hire a douche bag mouth breathing lawyer!
MOTY? Just another host for societies parasites. Throw her in jail too, hold her accountable for the actions of her actions!

      • TJ October 20, 2017, 6:23 pm

I say build a wall and throw all those black lives matter haters over there let them back when black lives matter to the blacks they seem to be the ones doing most of the killing of the blacks (themselves) “Oh wait a minute” we still need to build the first wall. Silly me.

    • G. Giant October 20, 2017, 11:58 am

Not at all. She was suddenly there. What if she had been packing? No, she had to be removed quickly. And with a son like that, it is to be believed that she was also capable of violence.

    • Dan Martin October 23, 2017, 1:53 pm

I can’t believe those police officers didn’t at least tell the mother her son was under arrest. Maybe she forgot that part when making her statement, maybe because it didn’t fit her “poor me” statement.

  • joefoam October 20, 2017, 9:17 am

Those evil police wouldn’t let mom see her armed robber son who tried to kill two innocent people. Shame on them.

  • Ed October 20, 2017, 9:01 am

She raised the little criminal bastard. Great parenting skills Mom!!! Now you are raising hell that you can’t see him, because he tried to rob people hard working Americans at gunpoint. Wake up Biatch!!!!!!!…… the rest of America ain’t allowing that kind of crap anymore. Raise a thug, you got no rights. Commit a crime and pay the price. Too bad he wasn’t killed during the crime and saved the taxpayer dollars for a trial for this POS thug.

Wake up you Welfare Babies and Criminal Thugs. Regular Americans ain’t putting up with this crap anymore. No rights are owed to you, you gotta earn them in America by being a law abiding citizen that can actually contribute to society, not continue to take away from society.

    • Mike October 20, 2017, 11:19 am

You are so right. I am an Army Veteran with a LTC ( License to Carry ) Concealed. I believe that All Legal Citizens Should be Allowed to carry for personal Protection. I also believe that if you ” BLACK, BROWN, WHITE OR PURPLE ” commit a Violent Crime and you get shot in the process, you should automatically not be allowed to plead out and get the Maximum Sentence Allowed by Law without the possibility of Early release and not be allowed to Sue the Victim…

    • hodag7 October 20, 2017, 1:54 pm

Please, don’t capitalize welfare babies and criminal thugs – that’s proffering a title that they haven’t earned. Crack heads and whores don’t have any rights to breed but they do and they expect rights for their spawn who grow up just as evil and cruel as whoever they hung around and learned from – they aren’t ‘raised’ so much as taught: how to scam the welfare system, social programs, medicaid and medicare. These PoS come from all races

  • akjc77 October 20, 2017, 8:59 am

I’m in total agreement that the thug got what he deserved and needs off the streets however it is odd that his mother couldnt see him I mean c,mon yall that is her baby to her regardless if he is a thug punk, ya cant fault her for wanting to see him? Maybe I’m getting soft in My 40’s but I cant see why they couldnt of stood guard and allowed her to see the punk?

    • Buck451 October 20, 2017, 9:47 am

When someone is arrested, no one can see them. Him being in the hospital is the same as him being in a jail cell. No visitors except at certain times in jail and I don’t believe they allow visitors in the hospital at any time.

One other thing. Look at mom, she can’t stop twitching and moving. Something wrong there.

Take the extra classes. Get the RIGHT holster. Listen to your instructor’s recommendations. Learn. Your wife/husband/children/friends lives may depend on it. That is what I got out of this story.

Actually aside from race there is only a marginal difgetence between deep rural white dialect and Ebonics…as it has its origin in white rural language…

      • Cary October 20, 2017, 9:32 am

        “Deep rural white” where?

      • chinchilla October 20, 2017, 9:49 am

Would that be actually actual? You should be posting some “deep rural [w]hite dialect” videos to back up your actual assertion.

      • Buck451 October 20, 2017, 9:51 am

She is in Detroit, not much deep rural dialect involved. Her speech is from a lack of respect for the language and habits of where she was born and lives.

I know what your talking about when you say white rural language. I have a distinct drawl in my voice but I pronounce my words properly. But that is a result of constantly remembering not to say words like aint, or yonder. The accent is different and some people think it sounds nice, ya’ll.

    • Eddie October 20, 2017, 11:54 am

I can’t believe the moderator gave you the pleasure of posting your comment. I personally am proud to say that I do not practice political correctness in my daily life. The Mother of this criminal does not have the right to enter this hospital room until her criminal son is either locked up (with visitation), set free (not likely), or his life expires from gun’s wounds incurred from his stupid, illegal actions of trying to rob a CPL holder. Based on the video of the Robbery – I believe that the CPL holder reacted as quick and proper as possible in the given situation. I have several African American friends that can speak the Queens english. Ebonics and Broken English, simply speak to pathetic upbringing and lack of intelligence. Please notice I believe that I practiced proper english in this conversation. God speed be with you on the other side.

  • Andrew Ling October 20, 2017, 8:11 am

The deed was very natural looking for the perp. He simply pulls it out of his pocket, like what he does every day. Very fast and dynamic! I could not have reacted so naturally. It is scary at the least and very disturbing thing to see, at best. I would not walk around in places like that. Crossfire can kill you. Mother’s instincts aside, she has no shame for having brought up such a boy. Why bother? Not my cup of tea.

    • Jerms October 20, 2017, 9:11 am

On point. The perp looked like this was just “another day at the office”. The CPL holder responded perfectly. I feel bad for the other victim for having getting caught in the cross-fire, but I am glad to hear that he will recover just fine. This is why it is always important to carry when legally possible, at all times. Clear-cut act of self defense. I would like to buy this CPL holder a beer!

Its a shame the “boys” mother is such a POS, and that she was allowed to breed and raise another POS. He got what he deserved almost….he should be in the morgue NOT lying in a hospital bed….and at the taxpayers expense too….and they wonder why people look down on them .

    • McN. October 20, 2017, 8:11 am

      Amen to that!!!

    • Robert October 20, 2017, 8:18 am

The son may be an idiot that got what he deserved but you dont know anything about his mom other than that she is clearly poor. So for you to say that about her says everything about you being a heartless POS. Justice was served no need to badmouth the lady. Black or white people from poverty cycles are gonna end up like this…dead or jailed with crying moms…and until we get our heads out our butts and start interve ing with some of these kids before they become desperate idiots this will continue…

      • Obvious October 20, 2017, 9:42 am

Who said she’s poor? Are you stereotyping a person’s socio-economic status based on speech patterns and her enunciation of words? Perhaps you are as guilty? She could be a multi-million dollar lottery winner or a psychologist with a doctorate. I would clearly say she should have been more involved with her son’s upbringing as opposed to just rushing to hospitals when armed robberies go bad.

        • Rob October 20, 2017, 10:09 am

Ha…that was such a weak 3rd grade response…so you think that because she’s wealthy she feels need to dress like that and because she’s wealthy which would also make the son son wealthy too that he feels the need to Rob? Funny statistical fact of the wealthy who commit criminal acts such as theft or attempted murder or assault 9.9 times out of 10 they are going to be white if they are wealthy and they are committing the crime. That’s not an opinion that’s a verifiable FBI statistical fact so no she’s not rich no the the crook who deservedly got shot was not rich. Go play in traffic and leave this discussion for the grown-ups

          • mark boccegaloupe October 21, 2017, 12:21 am

Gee Rob, glad to see that racist behaviour is prevalent on all sides. Who made the decision she was poor? I think that was you. Who decided she was wealthy? You again. And who decided he was the sole arbiter of who is racist and who is not? Well, just look in the mirror.

I hate to tell you this, but racism is built into the human animal. We are ALL racist, as this was a life promoting feature during the times when strangers were automatically dangerous (back when we lived in tribes. Whether this is right or wrong has no bearing – it is a fact built into your DNA, just like your hair color, or that you don’t like broccoli.

And where did you get the data that most wealthy robbers were white? Last I checked, they don’t include that data in the FBI stats – could it be you’re a little -uhh – racist? Congrats, you’re human. Just try not to attempt to shame the rest of us for being human, cause we just don’t care, if we ever did. And while you’re digging into those FBI stats, maybe you should discover the ones about the crime rate in the black community. If you feel they have the right to act this way, guess what? You’re being racist, I mean human again…

          • Obvious October 21, 2017, 12:55 am

Rob, You speaketh with no facts. Point me to FBI statistics that include crimes by wealthy and crimes by poor? What’s the definition of poor? So rich white people can’t dress in ragged jeans and holy T-shirts? I think Alan Jackson dresses like that and he has a buck or two. And again your second grade response is telling of your biases. Let’s brake down your outright false hoods. “Funny statistical fact of the wealthy who commit crimes of theft or attempted murder or assault 9.9 times out of 10 they are going to be white if they are wealthy…” This is sheer stupidity. I report crimes to the FBI from my department so that the FBI can complete the UCR based on crimes municipal and county departments provide to the FBI. Find me stats the FBI keeps on “wealthy and poor crime stats”. I’ll bet you get back to me the same time Alan Jackson wears a pair of new Jeans with no holes in the knees at your request. Now, get off your knee, the National Anthem is over, and go fetch me those stats youngin…By the way, I know it’s Detroit, but some rich people live there to. I know stereotyping and generalities include your makeup of facts, like your pseudo statistics, but stop disgracing yourself. It’s like you saying where you live in San Francisco that there are no straight people there. I’m sure there are dude, totally. Bill Cosby allegedly committed all of those assaults, and he was wealthy and black. Is he the .1% you were referring to?

        • Rob October 20, 2017, 10:11 am

And it’s in Detroit so unless you think there’s this hidden Trove of wealthy black people in impoverished clothing then I have ocean front property to sell you in Iowa

          • Obvious October 21, 2017, 1:01 am

Ahhh, no rich black people in Detroit. I love the stereotyping by those who accuse others of stereotyping. Oh and your original post about “start intervening with these kids before they become desperate” is idiotic. Desperation does not include putting a gun in someone’s face to aggressively rob possible kill someone. You can steal food without putting a gun in someone’s face. You can eat without killing another. So, get out thee and intervene. The poor streets of Detroit await you. Bring them cake Cleopatra.

  • ron October 20, 2017, 6:56 am

    that’s NOT a “gentleman!”

    • Rattlerjake October 20, 2017, 8:08 am

      Not even human.

  • Andy Buckmichael October 20, 2017, 6:55 am

It is too bad that Sanchez was not killed.

    • Sanchez Washington October 20, 2017, 8:43 am

Keep paying your taxes. All the Sanchezes are counting on you. And when it’s not enough (as it never is) they’ll put a Lorcin in your face to collect the difference.

  • Lloyd Dumas October 20, 2017, 6:16 am

Shameful, thank God the victim was able to defend himself. This young man probably was not robbing to feed his family but to feed a drug habit. I can’t think of any reason for anyone to take from others and the robber have been given another chance to get it right and I hope he will take advantage of it after he is punished for his actions. Better the mother visit her son in jail than visit him in the morgue, I hope she will have a good message for him about turning his life around.

    • Mike Rossi October 20, 2017, 8:17 am

She taught him to be a POS. Nothing new– SSDD
Worthless lying black scumbags blame the PD
I thank the God for the PD!!!.

      • Rob October 20, 2017, 9:06 am

You dont know what she taught him…you sound stupid and clueless…there is a bigger enemy here and its poverty..tge no bootstraps to pull yourself up by poverty.. Justice was served and im glad we have 2nd Amend..but you sound like the type of heartless ahole that will give the rest of us a bad name and start shooting just cause you see black or poor

        • Obvious October 21, 2017, 1:03 am

Know, I’d say shoot when they put a gun in your face, just as the CPL holder did. Tough to do I know, but stick to the facts of the case, not generalizations or other hypotheticals you WISH to make up.

  • jtay October 20, 2017, 5:00 am

70%+ of black kids grow up with out fathers in the home in USA. Pampering Moms aren’t the answer

    • Rattlerjake October 20, 2017, 8:10 am

They are not pampered, they are TAUGHT to be this way! These ferals are raised on hatred.

    • Rob October 20, 2017, 9:13 am

I use to think that…turns out not true…70% are in single parent homes which means they live with mom as far as primary custody and census goes…but the fathers are in their lives (the one’s not being thrown in jail at a disproportionate rate compared to their white counterparts…69% arrest or white less than 30% incarcerated or white 28% of rest are black 54% incarcerated are black…according to fbi and justice dept..)…the issue is poverty not race…eliminate poverty…crime in black and poor white communities becomes close to nil…however that still leaves us with rich crooks

      • Who Says October 21, 2017, 1:20 am

Stats to back up that the fathers are in their lives?

  • Blue Dog October 16, 2017, 3:48 pm

It is a shame that this boy, this child, had to turn to crime. I notice that nobody that is rushing to condemn this accused child (innocent until proven guilty?) is asking about his background, what kind of opportunities he did and did not have. Was it easier for him to get a handgun than it would have been to get fresh vegetables? What kind of employment opportunities were denied to him because this nation’s education system might have failed him? And the police wouldn’t even let his mother visit her child in the hospital. This is why NFL players are kneeling during the national anthem. This is why people have to march in cities to remind us that black lives matter. If you don’t get that, maybe you are part of the problem and not part of the solution.

    • David Ruhlig October 16, 2017, 5:37 pm

“It is a shame that this boy, this child, had to turn to crime.” Since when is a 29 year old considered a child? Did you even read the article at all?
” And the police wouldn’t even let his mother visit her child in the hospital.” That is because he was under arrest for attempted armed robbery and probably attempted murder.
Your entire response reads like some nonsensical liberal rambling. You go on to talk about the black lives matter movement which is ironic considering the two men he tried to rob were black! Try actually reading and watching the video before commenting and looking like an idiot.

      • Rob October 20, 2017, 9:26 am

Actually if jes being treated at the hospital while in custody they can let her see him under police supervision…so chill out with the angryman rhetoric

        • mark boccegaloupe October 21, 2017, 12:34 am

Being a racist again, Rob? While they “could” have let her see him, they are under no obligation to. And as far as that post being “angryman” rhetoric, I assume you consider anyone with a differing opinion as an “angryman”? Unless you have a differing opinion? Or can enlighten us all as to what he said that was “angry”? What I learned from reading his remark was that you aren’t very good at comprehension skills. Must have been bad schools, I imagine-unless you have more to enlighten us with regarding your background, etc?

It’s also common to attack the messenger when you don’t have a decent argument against their opinion. Congrats, you’re getting more and more human every day!

    • MarkOwen October 20, 2017, 3:07 am

He made a bad choice, probably been making bad choices for years now he sows whar he reaps. Lucky he isn’t dead. Street thugs like him deserve everything they get. No sympathy here and none deserved.

    • cawpin October 20, 2017, 3:21 am

“This is why people have to march in cities to remind us that black lives matter.”

You might want to tell that to the black people who keep killing black people.

      • Rob October 20, 2017, 9:13 am

What about the whites that kill whites…murder is proximity not race

        • Obvious October 21, 2017, 1:15 am

And if your proximity includes those of similar race, then I would say murder is about race and proximity. I would also say it’s more about race than proximity. Chicago gangbanger goes to Detroit and kills someone. What are the stats he stopped in West Bloomfield Hills and killed a white person, as opposed to driving straight to downtown Detroit and shooting a rival gangbanger on Woodward Ave? I think it’s better odds he kills the rival same race gangbanger. That’s what the FBI stats would say. Black on black crime is not just a slogan.

    • Trevor_Phillips October 20, 2017, 3:25 am

      Just another braindead libtard squawker.

    • Kenneth Thomas October 20, 2017, 3:38 am

It’s a shame that man/boy/child had a mess of a mother like that weird haired goon on the video. She is obviously not in her full faculties in the first place. How could a person turn out worth a nickel raised by such a BT-1000. She raised an ED-209.

    • Dirk October 20, 2017, 5:35 am

Wow, that is such an ignorant statement. YOU are part of the problem. Opportunities provided? How about finding out how hard he worked to better himself, his family and those around him. He looks to me like he’s able bodied enough to work. I do not care how difficult of a life anyone has had…to threaten to take someone’s life for a few dollars?!! It disgusts me that you can even defend someone like that. Kneel down all you want and let those brave enough to stand continue to fight for your safety and freedom because I don’t believe those fighting would want someone like you by their side fighting anyway.

    • 2ndBn. October 20, 2017, 6:08 am

This POS shot an innocent person, and you’re concerned that he didn’t get enough vegetables?
And ‘black lives matter’ is all about feeling sorry for assholes with firearms who rob innocent people?
I wouldn’t hold your breath too long thinking you’re gonna get support for that one, ‘cuz only crazy people are gonna have sympathy for dipshits who choose to open fire on innocent people.
The rest of us are save our sympathies for the VICTIMS of your buddies.
The BEST solution for this ‘problem’ is arming MORE law-abiding citizens.
You see, the cities/towns with the largest armed population tend to have the LOWEST crime stats.
It seems that your buddies don’t like pointing their weapon(s) at people they know are gonna SHOOT BACK.
They’re all about using their firearms on un-armed people.
      Shocking eh?

      • FAL Phil October 20, 2017, 8:24 am

I just want to know how the term ” yellow dog Democrat” got turned into “blue dog Democrat”.

    • Dude October 20, 2017, 6:21 am

You are what is wrong with America. You and your kind are who helped me pull the lever for Donald Trump last November, and you are doing a better job of convincing me that I was 110% right than you were the first time. Trump in 2020!
As for that “neglected child”? It’s a shame he made it…

    • JD October 20, 2017, 6:23 am

Oh the poor child. He was just on his way to pick up his memaw and take her to church. Along the way he saw two very tanned white walking and one of them dropped his wallet. The poor child, being a good boy, picked it up and and was trying to give it back. Out of the blue the white supremacist with a very dark tan pulled a gun and shot the poor little child multiple times!
The story gets worse though. His multiple mother of the year winner went to the hospital and some clan members with badges told her to get out. They didn’t just say get out, they said bitch get yo black ass out of here. They were very very rude to this outstanding mother! It’s a total shame that such a good God fearing honest child ended up in the hospital with gunshot wounds caused by President Trump, the KKK, and white supremacist hillbillies. She should sue and the city should pay her and her child millions of dollars.

    • Infidel762x51 October 20, 2017, 7:53 am

No one gives a crap about his background and upbringing. he made a choice to become a criminal and he almost got what he deserved. He had the chance to get an education and a job but he choose crime and the street.

      • Rob October 20, 2017, 9:15 am

“No one gives a crap about his background”…
The truth is we are a result of our growing up experiences and backgrounds so if he grew up in poverty with no help no support no true guidance is highly likely that he’s going to end up the way he ended up so the issue isn’t so much him although it sucks that he tried to do something stupid the solution is eliminating poverty so that men like that don’t fall to the wayside making stupid decisions and can contribute to society

        • mark boccegaloupe October 21, 2017, 12:42 am

So again, Rob , what you are saying is that poor people have no chance to be decent human beings because they’re poor? This sounds like you’re advocating for their complete removal from lawful America, since according to you there is NO chance of them being lawful, decent human beings. Gee, Rob, I guess you DO belong here!

        • Obvious October 21, 2017, 1:11 am

There are a lot of poor people who don’t shove guns in other people’s face Robbie. My grandparents lived through the depression. They didn’t rob people Rob. It’;s the culture, not the poverty. It’s the lack of work ethic, not unemployment, which is very low now. How many jobs do you think this 29 year old applied for in the last week? Yeah, take a guess and get back to me. Let’s hear your best guess at how many places he walked into and asked if they were hiring….

          • RJB October 21, 2017, 10:49 am

It is the ghetto culture, and until they change their behavior nothing will change. Having baby after baby after baby with no means to support them is also not everyone else’s problem (taxpayers). You can’t blame the white devil or slavery or racism for the cesspool neighborhoods you create. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are all any one of us is entitled to. You can’t afford children, don’t have any. you want more, earn it. He will learn NOTHING from this event. When he’s back out on the streets he will be even worse than he was. You can’t fix everything, most times the only person who can fix it is the one who broke it. If you don’t want to change your behavior it will never change. We have been throwing money at the ghetto for some sixty plus years now and it’s still broken. Don’t want to be responsible and accountable for your actions then you will continue to live in the cesspool you created. I’m aware that anything us hard working tax paying American Patriots say will never be understood by the brainwashed left wing loonies who want to give everybody’ else’s money away and always make excuses for bad behavior.

      • Carry On October 20, 2017, 9:32 am

Blaming the system, raised without a father, no job is not the problem. It is a shame he got shot and a tragedy that the innocent cousin got shot. The CPL holder and his cousin are the innocent people here and Sanchez is guilty of attempted robbery with a firearm. Plain and simple. Sanchez made the wrong decision at the wrong time due to his CHARACTER and not because of black lives matter, education, jobs etc The mother has not learned to take NO for an answer and since protesting is a way of life, she called a TV station that accommodated her. The BLM bunch seem to think that they do NO wrong and other do Nothing right!! And they have the nerve to accuse others of being divisive!!

      • Tired of this crap!! October 20, 2017, 7:22 pm

Why is it every time something like this happens, stupid effed up liberals have to step in and say the same stupid sh*t? This perp committed a crime, and I for one feel he got what he deserved and apparently many others do as well. I’m glad to see that. I’m sick of libs expecting victims to ask “well, what did I do wrong in this situation?” when defending self and property. Why should a law abiding hard working citizen be expected to take the perp out for breakfast and find out what his sob story is rather than defend themselves? The bottom line…this guy broke the law and messed with the wrong person. The intended victim put a stop to it. End of story. God you liberal social justice warrior want-to-be types are annoyingly stupid!!!!!!!!

    • Mike S. October 20, 2017, 8:01 am

You’re a moron. I’m not the problem, YOU ARE!!

    • Tired of this crap!! October 20, 2017, 7:29 pm

What an absolute load of bullsh*t. This “child” needs to learn about being responsible for himself and his actions. I’m sick of hearing people whining about “oppression” and having a “lack of opportunities”, and I’m also sick of those who listen to it.. Keep on whining and playing the victim card, you won’t get anywhere. The truth is the world doesn’t owe this “child” or anyone anything at all, and you actually have to get out there and work to earn a living. This man made the wrong choice by committing a crime and now he has to pay for his actions. So why don’t you whiny little social justice warriors shut the hell up and do something productive like feeding people, especially if you’re worried about him getting his vegetables.

    • Obvious October 21, 2017, 1:05 am

The video pretty much shows the proof? So I’d call him guilty. Here’s a case in point. He will plea unless he has nothing to lose. As in he is being tried as a habitual offender and is facing serious time etc.

  • meeester October 16, 2017, 10:08 am

Those police are so unhelpful. I didn’t see anything where they instructed the ‘mother’ where she could go to pick up her Mother-of-the-Year application

  • Faye Tackett October 15, 2017, 6:24 pm

Good for you CPL holder. Its sad a mother cannot see her son in the hospital…but he is under arrest and rather then blame the police and trying to start trouble by calling the news stations…she might wake up and realuse her son tried to rob and kill people.

  • Dilligaf October 14, 2017, 10:15 pm

Too bad that thug wasn’t put down permanently. The world would be a better place with out that thug criminal
