WATCH: Naked New Jersey Businessman Chases Car Thieves with AR-15, Police Take His Guns

Authors Defensive Use of Firearms Jordan Michaels This Week

A wealthy New Jersey businessman had his firearms seized after he used an AR-15 to chase car thieves away from his property last year, according to a new report from the New York Post.

Newly released footage shows Evan Wexler, naked, in front of his Fort Lee mansion firing several shots at another man who was trying to steal his Mercedes G-Wagon. According to the Post, it was the 18th time thieves had attempted to steal one of Wexler’s exotic cars, and the police had done little to stop them.

“I keep calling the police and showing them videos to prove I’m not crying wolf,” Wexler said. “I’m begging them to deter these guys, but they’re not doing s–t. The cops show up too late or go on high-speed chases but they never catch anyone.”

So, the wealthy butcher-turned-high-end hamburger and steak supermarket wholesaler decided to take matters into his own hands.

In the video, the would-be thief can be seen opening the door of Wexler’s Mercedes, which he admits he sometimes left unlocked. According to the Post, car thieves often looked in Wexler’s daily drivers to find keys to his more exotic cars.

In one incident last August, they stole Wexler’s $500,000 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Coupe. It was found a week later with $80,000 worth of damage.

Moments after the thief starts the Mercedes, Wexler can be seen on his home security camera running onto his porch. He isn’t wearing any clothes, and he’s holding what appears to be an AR-style rifle. He keeps the gun trained on the thief as the man runs away and fires what the Post describes as “warning shots” from his porch.

The move succeeded in deterring that particular thief, but police were none too thrilled. They slapped Wexler with aggravated assault and possession of weapons for unlawful purposes, which the meat mogul pled down to possession of a deadly weapon.

“An incident happens where a guy gets my car started, I came out of the house with a rifle, the guy puts the car into drive, drives forward, and my gun discharges,” Wexler described the incident to the Post. “At that point, Fort Lee police show up, there’s no victim of a shooting, but they come and turn the tables on me.”

Wexler was forced to sell his guns and was sentenced to two years of probation.

“Assault firearms” are illegal in New Jersey, and Wexler’s rifle appears to meet the state’s definition of that term. But the Post reports that the charge Wexler pleaded guilty to was leveled when police found another weapon on his property that violated the state’s standard-capacity magazine ban.

How about a federal where all good citizens get an opportunity to join the “National Concealed Carry Militia”.
They have training from local police to pass the same standards of training for safety and ability to hit their small target at 20 feet. They be allowed to carry when they prove their ability to be effective. They carry on subways, in places where racists and pathological dangerous criminal can carry and use illegal guns that were either stolen or bought from drug dealers and associated deviants. You never know when some democrat, antifa, skin head, or Black Lives Matter type wants to show society that they are getting even for crimes against humanity a couple hundred years ago.

  • Mont Schroeder April 16, 2022, 3:28 pm

Democrats love criminals, they probably even train them to steal, breakins in the name of BLM and Antifa rioting and plandemics and that is why they are no longer going to exist after the midterms. Allot of them are going to end up at Gitmo for treason and seditious behavior and swing at the end of a noose, too.

  • Mr. B,Brown October 17, 2021, 9:04 pm

In Florida dump whole mag. don’t have to worry. Just make sure he or she are dead. South FL. is a F J B state anyway. In our neck of the woods if you are stupid you better be tough. DOGS,WIFE,FLAG AND AMERICA (RED NECKS DON’T PLAY)

  • KatRob9 October 14, 2021, 7:09 pm

I don’t know why the piece of crap criminals in this country whine and cry so much, the odds are in their favor, it’s the law-abiding citizens that are getting the shaft.

  • JohnL October 14, 2021, 10:42 am

Nothing says go Brandon like a naked man with an AR.

  • Christopher Mark Whiteley October 14, 2021, 12:16 am

Ist of all if I owned a 500,000 dollar car I would have it parked in a 50,000 dollar garage with a 50 dollar lock on the damn door, 2nd of all I wouldn’t shoot a damn gun in the air, especially in New Jersey, and third of all I would buy a big ass dog trained to attack intruders. Should earn enough money for alpo to food the beast, maybe contract out an alarm company, and install some motion sensor lights. Better yet, move to Texas, keep the guns and fire away.

    • Alex October 23, 2021, 9:37 am

In NJ property that close to NYC is at a premium and you also have to deal with Communist town planning boards, who will tax the crap out of you even if you’re able to build a garage.

  • alex October 10, 2021, 8:54 am

his first mistake is calling the cops,THEY ARE USELESS WITH TODAY”S JUDGES!! his was better off doing what he did and just went back to bed and if the cops show up play stupid and say yea i heard the shots, things are getting terrible around here and that would have been the end of it.complain to the cops about high crime and really put a good nagging act on complaining about how bad crime is and those cops would have ran out of there!

  • Matt October 10, 2021, 4:16 am

Who the hell shoots “Warning shots”??? Obviously this guy has zero knowledge of firearms… You don’t fire warning shots and you don’t shoot at a fleeing criminal, common sense. Criminal is an A hole but so is this guy for not taking measures to secure his 100k+ cars and for not educating himself about the law and firearms use.

  • Mr. 2A October 9, 2021, 3:38 pm

Move out of these Idiotic States and move to Free States that appreciate law abiding Citizens and no criminals.

The quicker these Liberal State lose their Tax base the quicker they’ll go bankrupt, as the Illegal Aliens and Criminals do NOT pay State or Federal taxes.

  • Uniformfoxtrotmike October 9, 2021, 8:07 am

    1) lock the vehicle WTF it’s NJ ( why isn’t it in the MC mansion’s garage ?)
    2) lock the vehicle
    3) the $10k legal fee could have been used on a passive anti theft setup on all the cars ( since locks are too complicated)
    4) lock the vehicle
    5) WTF it’s NJ lock the fn vehicle or put it in a garage .
    6) maybe .. lock the vehicle , move to a better state, tone back the flashy useless man toys and invest in some pants.. oh ya , lock the fn car you nance !

    • Joseman October 13, 2021, 6:00 pm

Yes you are right, He should lock his car. But, that is not the main problem, The main problem is that the victim is the one punished, and the thief is free and happy.

  • Shanz October 8, 2021, 9:43 pm

Poor criminal. I hope he’s ok. He was just trying to commit a felony. So many comments blaming the victim. Lots of communist trolls on here lately.

  • George October 8, 2021, 9:10 pm

The headline says it all ‘ New Jersey ‘. Guy should have left the state long ago. Always easier to blame the victim.

  • Dano October 8, 2021, 8:38 pm

    He’d be OK in Texas.

There’s a law covering the use of deadly force to prevent the theft of property during the hours of darkness.

Conversely….why would you leave high value vehicles like that ungaraged at night?
If you can afford a Lambo and Mercedes you can afford a shelter for them.

    90% of survival is awareness/avoidance.
This guy was begging for it.

  • jj October 8, 2021, 7:21 pm

  • dale October 8, 2021, 2:27 pm

None of this would be happening if someone had the gonads to stand up and fight for we the people

  • Mark W October 8, 2021, 2:03 pm

First this gentleman is obviously a moron, if you’ve had repeated attempts of someone stealing your cars why leave them unlocked. Then he also didn’t know the gun laws in his state, so he should never used it without being thoroughly trained. Once that person jumped out of the jeep and ran away he should have never pulled the trigger. His life was never in danger so you definitely didn’t have cause to fire, as to warning shots only idiots fire them as he doesn’t know where those bullets will end up possibly injuring or killing some innocent. Take it from someone that also lives in liberal land (Massachusetts) you really need to get trained and know your states gun laws before carrying or using as your really walking a tight rope with the LIBERAL legal systems in such states.

    • Rattlerjake October 8, 2021, 3:50 pm

Well it’s obvious that Massachusetts is where YOU belong. First of all, leaving your car unlocked is NOT a crime, but trespassing on private property and entering a vehicle without permission from the owner both are crimes! Gun laws make no difference if you are a supporter of the US CONSTITUTION, which YOU obviously have never read! The state is in direct violation of the Constitution, which, by the way, it agreed to support, defend, and adhere to when it ratified it on February 6, 1788 !!!!!!!!!!!!! And lastly, firing that firearm to ward off trespassers is only illegal in the minds of MORONS, especially politicians – that intruder was a threat as long as he was still trespassing on his property. It’s asswipes like you who allow the state and federal governments to get away with violating the rights of the people and our nations Constitution.

    • Kenneth Jamin October 8, 2021, 4:17 pm

I wonder if the cops took his “snubbie” too?

    • Patrick October 8, 2021, 7:04 pm

It’s crap, but I agree with u. Sucks he lives in a place where they keep trying to steal his **** but u can’t just come out and start shooting a rifle during only a theft as warning shots. I think this pretty much applies everywhere. Can understand his frustration though

    • Shanz October 8, 2021, 9:23 pm

      Lib tard troll.

  • Garry Ray Newby October 8, 2021, 12:43 pm

Places like Jersey, DC, Chicago, LA, and all democrat ran areas they don’t kill worthless murdering criminals, they cure them no matter how many times it takes. Your first 8 felonies are free but get 9 and you are going to spend some weekends in the county jail. Don’t say you weren’t warned. Here in Arizona I don’t believe Americans allowed their rights to be taken like that. DC got so bad with all their gun laws in the 90’s they went ahead and took their Fourth Amendment too as they pulled you over performing searches on cars for guns without any probable cause. You know those democrats and you know what we say. ‘If you don’t know your rights then you don’t have any.’

While we have trespassers held since January in solitary confinement since that time without charges and if that isn’t a serious enough reason to drag Joe from office then his fraud should be. JUST WHEN DO YOU SAY YOU HAVE HAD ENOUGH AMERICA? When you are in chains

    • Rattlerjake October 8, 2021, 3:52 pm

      Absolutely!

  • Alex October 8, 2021, 12:20 pm

I have very little sympathy. This guy keeps leaving his cars unlocked with keys in them even after his lambo was stolen…go intentionally leave a bag of cash on the sidewalk. Is it legal to take that cash? No. Will i feel bad for you when someone takes it? No.

    • Rattlerjake October 8, 2021, 3:57 pm

It’s because of fools like you and your poor sense of right and wrong that have allowed the justice system to become as worthless as it is. Just because someone else’s property is unsecured doesn’t mean anyone has a right to help themselves.

  • Gary October 8, 2021, 12:09 pm

This is becoming the new norm: Police and prosecutors doing little or nothing to catch or incarcerate criminals, but then charging innocent civilians for protecting their own property and families

    • Rattlerjake October 8, 2021, 4:00 pm

Just wait until the Australian authoritarianism comes to US cities and the cops are arresting people for not committing crimes!

      • BC Moore October 10, 2021, 2:08 am

What, you don’t think that’s here already? got news for you………

  • Peter Brown October 8, 2021, 12:07 pm

The man is not stupid. Apparently, neither is he 100% liberal. He well knew the problems. He also was well aware of his liberal environment; law enforcement, local guvamint, the Dog catcher and the flower shop would like to seize firearms of law abiding people. The man left the safety of his home with a weapon to preserve private property….big problem. Had he been forced to shoot and/or kill someone he’d be jail or possible out on a million dollar bail. As for cops doing little, the man may have the bucks to hire an attorney or to direct his attorney to intercede with the district attorney. It’s disgusting to hear of another firearm confiscation but that could have been avoided by thinking ahead and having a plan of action designed to protect his assets.

  • kenneth laskaska October 8, 2021, 11:53 am

  • John Lloyd Scharf October 8, 2021, 11:28 am

Welcome to the undemocratic constitutional republic run by the undemocratic party of Democrats ruling without the consent of the governed. My guess is this “wealthy New Jersey businessman” never voted to have his firearms restricted. All constitutional republics have the power to change their constitution without a plebiscite and rule with powers, privileges and immunities denied private citizens. They can create wars, conscript citizens into involuntary servitude, jack up your taxes, and spend your in a way drunken sailors would envy without a referendum to get your consent.

  • TC October 8, 2021, 11:18 am

If I had the money he has I would start a 2nd. Amendment movement and recruitment to change the law or force the law just as the socialist have done. It is time fir less talk and more action. Hell I am retired give me a room to stay and I’ll held get the movement going.
People it is time for action before this country goes socialist

  • Paul October 8, 2021, 10:29 am

    ….and that’s why you don’t live in New Jersey…..

  • Clint W. October 8, 2021, 10:21 am

Nicholas, you are wrong. The Founders wrote two Amendments, the militia amendment, and then the keep and bear arms amendment, Since the Founders were much better educated than just about anyone today, and knew their grammar, they combined the two with a semi-colon, two independent statements, combined into one, the common element, ‘arms’. The Founders intended for the future citizens to keep and bear arms without government intervention, and reading the Federalist Papers will confirm that. What is scary today, is that the majority of the young can not read script, and all our original founding documents are written in script.

  • Ron October 8, 2021, 10:01 am

Here is the way to stop all this crap. Pass the Texas law for use of deadly force. In Texas, a person may use deadly force to protect their property after sunset. A few incidents like this and the criminals will disappear.

    • Rattlerjake October 8, 2021, 4:26 pm

That’s what is allowed in the Bible.

  • Budd October 8, 2021, 9:57 am

The law USED to allow “The use of deadly force, in the case of a felony..” When states started removing that citizens protection, in favor of pandering to thieves, robbers and rapists, our legal system became next to useless.

  • William October 8, 2021, 9:52 am

Well Rico, The law in Texas says you can shoot someone for theft after dark. Thieves are not protected in every state. While I would not want to live with it on my conscience for killing someone over a lawn mower, I also respect a person’s right to protect themselves and their property.

    • TxMidniterider October 8, 2021, 3:10 pm

Texas law does NOT allow one to use deadly force day or night against a thief if he/she does not have the property in question. This example would have ended in arrest in Texas as well.
Texas Penal Code Chapter 9, Subchapter D, Section 9.42:

Sec. 9.42. DEADLY FORCE TO PROTECT PROPERTY. A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property:

      (1) if he would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.41; and

      (2) when and to the degree he reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary:

      (A) to prevent the other’s imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal mischief during the nighttime; or

      (B) to prevent the other who is fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime from escaping with the property; and

      (3) he reasonably believes that:

      (A) the land or property cannot be protected or recovered by any other means; or

      (B) the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover the land or property would expose the actor or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury.

In this instance had he fired on the suspect while he was in the car with engine running, he would be cleared. As you see the way the law is written, it is a no go if the suspect is running away without the property.

      FYI

  • Dilligaf October 8, 2021, 9:42 am

Get out of communist anti-American liberal new jersey, ASAP. That state is NOT American whatsoever

  • Capt. Dave October 8, 2021, 9:36 am

The Dumbocrats have turned this entire country upside down and inside out. The laws of individual states no longer follow the Constitution. People in Jersey are stuck with a Governor and law enforcement who live on the wrong side of the fence. If people take on the job of being cops and enforcing what we know as illegal laws, then the battle is lost. If there were enough common sense in places like Jersey, then these positions of law enforcement would be vacant until the elected class decided to follow the Constitution. Unfortunately, it appears that the general public in that area are currently happy to go the Socialist route. Protecting the criminal and utilizing false beliefs to make criminals out of people simply protecting what belongs to them is the disease now spreading in our USA. We must fight back while there is still a slight chance of coming out ahead.

  • john October 8, 2021, 8:47 am

you people who are telling him to move are so dumb! this is exactly what they want! And before you know there is no one left to vote against them and they’re blue forever. It’s all part of the power grab , they attack the places that get the the most delegates , and they win the fights at the ballot boxes . before you know , there is nowhere left to run off to. you flee the big cities and go hide in the country when your vote makes no difference . control the metropolitan areas , control the vote … they’ve been doing it for years and will continue to do so until they eradicate all liberties. they import new voters by the millions and place them where it counts. cmon people , look further than 2 inches in front of your faces

    • Shanz October 8, 2021, 9:32 pm

Great point. As a Californian I’m constantly told to move but not move to “ my state.” Fuck Democrats. They are a force for evil. They must be stopped.

  • Jerry October 8, 2021, 8:42 am

    1) police carry guns to protect themselves, not citizens
    2) the average police response time is 10 minutes, the response time of s .357 magnum is 1300 feet per second!

  • Fee C Leung October 8, 2021, 8:41 am

When you leave your house with a gun to confront a thief, depending on the state, you must be careful especially a gun. Just brandishing a gun outside your house has many caveats. In NJ you stand a better chance of shooting a thief IN THE HOUSE than outside of the house. Bottom line, know your state laws if you decide to buy a gun for self defense.

  • Richard Pilny October 8, 2021, 8:35 am

It’s no wonder that the public no longer has respect for law enforcement. To arrest a man for protecting his property they are no longer using their brains and acting as the gestapo.

    • Allen October 8, 2021, 12:31 pm

As a retired police officer I see a very dangerous trend going on. Police need to figure out which side they’re on. They don’t work for the mayor or city council. They work for the people. I took an oath and took it very seriously. I had to let criminals go because of the constitution and honesty. Now it’s whatever the Mayor feels like doing. Things are going to get worse. I hope our cops wake up and stop trying to enforce mask mandates and dragging parents out of school board meetings. Thank God it isn’t happening where I live yet. It’s funny because cops are out doing things to people who support them on the behalf of those who hate them. Everything is backwards.

      • jim October 8, 2021, 1:25 pm

Allen, while you are correct, the attitude you had as an officer is not shared by newer LEO’s. In many municipalities, LEO’s are required to violate the Constitution, and their service oath, and they are doing both with no push-back against those who impose the rules. With the defunding of PD’s, citizens and local government will soon request more protection from “big government”, which is the end game. Eventually, local PD’s will be small, and will be subject to the mandates of a National Police Force. This is not Chicken Little talking, this is what is happening as we are reading these notes. If you are a history buff, think Germany, July, 1932, and you will see scary similarities.

  • Tarheel October 8, 2021, 8:28 am

Zero consequences for thieves, prosecute people for trying to protect their own property…..and we wonder why crime is skyrocketing. Liberalism at its finest.

  • Joe Pypet October 8, 2021, 7:20 am

Dear Mr. Wexler, I respectfully suggest: 1. get a pair of pajamas 2. lock your vehicles 3. Get a double barreled shot gun with rock salt, and 4. but, most important get the heck out Jersey if you can. Even a shot gun with rock salt will still get you in trouble in Jersey.

    • Nicholas October 8, 2021, 9:45 am

May I suggest instead that the pretend pro-2nd community support the laws regarding the Duty to keep and bear arms rather than ignoring centuries of law and focusing on just 14 words in an amendment.
The purpose of the 2nd was to guarantee that the states would maintain Militia as defined in the statutes.
The purpose of the Militia is “to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections, and repel Invasions” as is clearly written in the original Constitution.
The purpose of recognizing those powers for the Militia, composed of all able-bodied men capable of bearing arms in common use, for the ultimate authority to deter and control government officials violating the rule of law, and thereby protecting all our rights.

      • CaptainObvious October 8, 2021, 11:13 am

Using your interpretation, what does a man do when the state is the one violating an individual’s rights? Come up with another interpretation to excuse violating the Constitution?

      • SH October 8, 2021, 12:04 pm

“The purpose of the 2nd was to guarantee that the states would maintain Militia as defined in the statutes.” Incorrect, in part. The necessity and responsibility to maintain a militia are defined elsewhere. The “First 13 words”, as you refer to them, simply acknowledge your statement, The second 14 words guarantee that the people shall remain armed against the misuse of that militia.

The second amendment has nothing to do with establishment of a militia, but simply acknowledges the state (country) will have one, and guarantees the people’s ability to resist it’s misuse.

      • Kent October 8, 2021, 1:32 pm

Militia is defined in Title 10 sec. 311 of the US code. Read it.

  • Garry Newby October 8, 2021, 7:11 am

All gun laws go against the Constitution. So in truth those laws are not enforceable. Any elected official sponsoring a gun law is violating his oath of office and more times than not never had any honor to begin with. The people need to remove these tyrants from office and try them for their abuse of power. That is according to LAW. Not to let them have their way. Look at Joe, for 50 years he has fought against the Second Amendment and the sheep elect him president while our founders spin in their graves. It’s a wonder these people call them self Americans. You shouldn’t move from these states so you can go to another and allow the same thing to happen to those states. Stay where you are and fight to get your rights back or bow down, disarm and be pray for any criminal that comes your way so you will be the one going to jail and in your case the jail won’t have a revolving door.

    • Nicholas October 8, 2021, 9:59 am

Yes, gun control is unconstitutional and rises to the level of treason. Buy why? And how do we enforce it if the so-called pro-2nd community ignore the first 13 words of the amendment, and see nothing but the last 14 words that impose no duty, create no office, and in fact do nothing more than allow public officials to demonize supporters of the RKBA as anti-government.
The Constitution requires the states to maintain a militia in order to perform the commands written into the Constitution.
Militia, in this country, is a lawful entity defined in statutes, and requiring at least able bodied men from 18 – 45 to be enrolled, armed, and trained as a soldier in order to perform the duties clearly stated in the Constitution.
Point of law. The Constitution acknowledges that Militia have the authorities that are written in the Constitution. That means that no other agency can be created to perform those duties; Article I, § 8, Cl. 15.
Point of law. The National Guard is part of the army as promulgated under Article I, § 10, Cl. 3, and by its form cannot be Militia.
Point of law. In order to change the clauses I noted would require several constitutional amendments.
The problem is a community that would rather fight tooth and nail to defend the misinformation they have been fed about the second amendment, rather than educate themselves and then finally win the battle to revoke all gun control.

      • Kent October 8, 2021, 2:01 pm

The Natl Guard and ready reserve are specifically named in Title 10 sec 311 USC as the organized militia. The unorganized militia are all able bodied males between the ages of 18-46 years. Officers can be retained up to 62 years. That’s the only relevant point of law I am aware of regarding militias. The Federalist Papers give us the intentions of the founders regarding this amendment.

  • Edwin Clements Parrish October 8, 2021, 6:16 am

  • Dr Motown October 8, 2021, 6:13 am

Hmmmm….why do the same thieves keep coming back to his house? Because the dumb-dumb leaves his cars unsecured with keys in the console! I would like to feel some sympathy for him, but I can’t. Now, if he caught the thieves INSIDE his secured garage, he could’ve probably avoided charges under a “castle doctrine” defense.

    • Garry Ray Newby October 8, 2021, 7:18 am

That’s right let’s blame the victim. If it would have happened in my state the criminal would have been DOA and laying in the morgue and the victim home in his bed sleeping soundly like in real life.

      • Pantexan October 8, 2021, 8:30 am

        NY?

      • Err October 8, 2021, 8:39 am

You’re not a victim if you continue to leave your prize auto collection outside with the keys in them, you’re either an idiot or your trolling for criminals. Secondly, I don’t know what state you live in but no state that I’m aware of allows the shooting of a criminal that’s stealing. Unless your life or another’s life is at risk and you have no other option, or they are in your house and even then you’re expected to retreat if possible without taking any physical action, and even then you use only the amount of force reasonably necessary to fend off the attacker.

      • Rattlerjake October 8, 2021, 6:54 pm

It’s pretty sad how so many supposed 2nd amendment supporters insist on blaming the homeowner. They’re not doing it because they are unlocked, they are doing it because they are criminals and his cars are worth a crap load of money.

I do believe that if I was this homeowner, I’d surround my home with a decent fence and turn a few HUNGRY pit bulls loose! The dogs gotta eat!

    • Kent October 8, 2021, 2:14 pm

The damned fool should have went inside and erased the tapes before he called the cops and said the system wasn’t working. If the neighbors said they heard shots, yeah he fired at me when I challenged him from my yard, golf club in hand, that’s why there are no bullet holes officer. Just remember to pick up the empty casings…

  • Whathappenedtomycountry October 8, 2021, 6:09 am

His problem, he lives in new jersey…also if he’s so rich, put up a gate?

  • K October 8, 2021, 6:06 am

Pfffft! Fake news! Red Coats won’t confiscate guns or enforce unconstitutional laws! Everyone knows that. I mean, I see it from all of the dudes with Back the Blue next to their Don’t Tread on Me window stickers all the time. Please don’t waste our time with any more of this left wing propaganda.

  • Snowdin October 8, 2021, 5:57 am

Unless he has something untraceable or unregistered, he has no defense against the blue helmets. Where I live as long as you have a Fence and No Trespassing signs posted, if someone goes onto your property you have a legal right to shoot them if your life is in danger. In fact someone shot a person setaling tools from his carport and the owner was not arrested. I know somebody who took a shot at someone with a .22 riflewho was trying to steal his Bronco. The criminal immediately left the scene. You can also carry concealed without a permit and have extended magazine. I would never move to a Anti-Gun State like Yawk or Joysee.

  • RICK REEVE October 8, 2021, 5:44 am

what i d like to know is who in their right mind would live in jersy and keeps voteing those nazi commie dictator socolist back in office its one of the worst places for lawabidding to live and a lovely place for scumbagoutlaws to live

  • dannis v peavy October 8, 2021, 4:13 am

Everyone advising give up and move south. It’s your homes we’re talking about. Voice over and vote out the degenerates and take back what’s rightfully yours . We have a saying down here in the South “Yankee stay home”.

    • Rattlerjake October 8, 2021, 7:07 pm

As you should know by now – VOTING MAKES NO DIFFERENCE!!!! What is necessary is for the lawful to organize and take matters into their own hands – remove the government and the cops and institute a new one, as the Constitution calls for. Problem is, we no longer have the patriots we did in 1775, so we will continue to lose ground until this nation is lost forever.

  • Slim October 8, 2021, 4:01 am

I like to see their justification for confiscating his weapon. Stay outta this place, obviously it’s the cops job to protect the thugs.

    • Rouge1 October 8, 2021, 9:23 am

Where I live that’s how cops get their guns. They confiscate them from the poor and the stupid. It’ one of the perks for working for the criminal cabal.

  • Leo October 8, 2021, 3:18 am

It is stupid situation because Wexler could have them arrested by simply paying some private investigator or security firm with his money, he is multi-millioner and he has as I know tons of such cars in garages. G is just a toy and Doesn’t feet to garage. Regarding NJ it is true you can’t have more than 10 rounds mags, he could get them any store there since 2018 restriction, he don’t know any local law because he is reach. He is stupid and probably was drunk as well, so that is why now he is without any guns.

    • Shanz October 8, 2021, 9:48 pm

I hope the police show up to your house. The grammar police that is.

  • Wearescrewed October 5, 2021, 12:03 am

Part of the problem is one cannot shoot to defend property and the criminals and cops know it. I had a guy rob my place by breaking the door, stole my car and wreked it, and took a bunch of stuff all on video as I had even a dash cam on the car where he is seen at the accident. Should be a felony, but the guy is a small time drug dealer that pays off the local police department, so when he was finally arrested the judge lets him out of jail on his own recognizance without posting any bail. He is going to plead guilty to a misdemeanor and doesn’s sign the deal, so they require him to go to court and set it for trial. Then he says he is pleaing guilty again and then changes his mind. So the court has a hearing the week before trial and he flees the area and it has been years since anyone has heard of him. The prosecutor says let insurance pay for it because that is what isurance is for. Really? I like the old time ideas of if caught stealing, they cut off one hand and 2nd time the other hand. Sure, there are some false reports and if it comes to light people lied about the crime, they get their hands both cut off. Enough of this going to daycare or free room and board at the local jail as that is better than their everyday living. There should be real punishment for commiting crimes and not go after tbose that are trying to protect themselves or their things.

    • Rattlerjake October 8, 2021, 7:17 pm

Yeah, so you cut off their hands and then we all have to pay their welfare check. I say put them on chain gang and work them picking crops instead of hiring illegals. Once released they have one more chance, if they fail number three, HANG’EM! Of course it depends on the severity of their crime, violent crimes are automatic permanent removal from society. Hire disabled veterans to man the firing squads!

  • DAVID MILLER October 4, 2021, 3:19 pm

All that money for cars you would think he would have a nice secure garage instead of parking out front showing of his cars

    • Armed and Dangerous October 8, 2021, 5:45 am

DAVID MILLER, you sound like a jealous punk. How much money the guy has doesn’t matter. His cars, his property. He should be able to keep his things on his property without the worry of some punkass thief trying to steal or vandalize it. He should have shot the guy and buried him so deep the groundhogs in China would have found him.

    • Buck October 8, 2021, 5:53 am

or be smart enough to loch the cars!

      • Rattlerjake October 8, 2021, 7:22 pm

You’re an idi0t! If the car is on his property, why does he need to lock it? There used to be a law against trespassing and stealing, it doesn’t matter if it is secured or not. If it doesn’t belong to you, you have no business taking it!!!! You thinks he’s dumb but you can’t even spell “lock”.

  • Tom A Guyton October 4, 2021, 2:51 pm

He could shoot them dead in Texas and then call the cops! Get dressed before they come or they will arrive arrest him for indecent expositor.

    • RicoTorpe October 4, 2021, 4:59 pm

True, Texas police and prosecutors are a lot less likely to prosecute in defense shootings than those in other states, but it is still best to avoid shooting. Well, unless there is a real threat of harm to you or another person.

You never know what is going to happen, or how the cops will perceive the crime scene. Even if you are tried and win, it will cost a lot of money in legal fees. Even if a judge dismisses the charges early on, your legal fees will likely be in the range of $5000-$10,000.

And if the family decides to get a media-attention-hog lawyer to sue you, the legal fees will be just as high, and you can still lose and have a $1,000,000+ verdict. Verdicts for wrongful death are usually not bankruptable.

Also, even if the self-defense/defense-of-others is crystal clear…
If you are not black, but the person you shoot is black, BLM activists and the media will likely make a circus of it.

Remember a few months back when that the Cincinnati cop shot the 16 y/o black girl while she was in the act of trying to stab another black woman? Even though he saved a black woman from being stabbed, the very next day, BLM had a protest march. The story was big for days. It didn’t matter that he did the right thing in shooting her.

These are possibilities that can ruin you financially.

So we pull that trigger at our own risk, so we have to make sure it is worth risking all of this.

  • Al P October 4, 2021, 2:06 pm

I live just across the state line from deep red Alabama in the deep red panhandle of Florida. This perp would have received much more than a warning shot. @ RICO “You can’t shoot people for property theft”….my ass you can’t. What the hell part of Alabama you from son? I’ve lived everywhere from Grand Bay to Dothan to Birmingham and you will definitely get your ass shot off stealing property in all corners of the state.

    • RicoTorpe October 4, 2021, 4:36 pm

It doesn’t matter where I live, SON, because it does not change the law. A thief may get a fanny-full of lead (and I won’t cry for him) but the person who shoots him could face criminal charges, depending on whether or not the prosecutor decides to charge the shooter. Few, if any, states allow lethal force in defense of mere property.

You can argue from ignorance with me all you want, but you cannot argue with Alabama law. The relevant part is at the bottom, with a link to the Code on the Alabama Legislature’s website.

You should read what self-defense experts have to say about why you should avoid shooting, if possible.

You have lost this argument. Got any more snarky comments?

      Code of Alabama §13A-3-26
Use of force in defense of property other than premises.

A person is justified in using physical force, **other than deadly physical force**, upon another person when and to the extent that he reasonably believes it to be necessary to prevent or terminate the commission or attempted commission by the other person of theft or criminal mischief with respect to property other than premises as defined in Section 13A-3-20.
      (Acts 1977, No. 607, p. 812, §625.)

      • Shanz October 8, 2021, 9:55 pm

You sound like a sleazy defense lawyer who would get a punk thug off of charges so he could victimize or possibly kill another victim. Stick the law up your ass.

  • RicoTorpe October 4, 2021, 12:48 pm

I live in deep red/crimson Alabama, and what he did would have landed his butt in jail. You can’t shoot people for theft of property. This has been the common law for centuries.

I don’t feel sorry for this stupid idiot.

    • Evan October 8, 2021, 8:49 am

His mistake was calling the police. If you’re in any kind of defensive shooting, you are a fool if you call the police. You call a lawyer. The lawyer can contact police, and the lawyer should be the ONLY one who talks to police.

You can wave your ridiculous “thin blue line” flags and howl about “back the blue” all you want, but the reality of the matter is that the cops are nobody’s friends, but they are a danger to any citizen they encounter.

This guy trusted the cops, and now he’s lost his gun rights and probably spent a boatload on legal fees – after having done absolutely nothing wrong.

      • Rattlerjake October 8, 2021, 7:31 pm

You’re right on the money! All you have to do is look at what is going on in Australia right now. The cops are doing the bidding of the government and enforcing illegal mandates. When a cop will violate the people’s rights just to protect his paycheck, he is worthless to society.

  • RICKY PRICE October 4, 2021, 12:28 pm

He needs to move out of that state first.

    • RicoTorpe October 4, 2021, 5:09 pm

Not a bad idea. New Jersey DAs are a lot more likely to prosecute self-defense cases, even when the facts are clear. They may not be as bad as in Massachusetts, but that isn’t saying anything.

Massachusetts law may have changed in the past few years (maybe!) but it certainly applied the “duty to retreat” to your own home.

      Insane!

    • Rattlerjake October 8, 2021, 7:40 pm

And that is exactly how states like NJ, NY, CT, CA, etc. have become the leftist hellholes they are. At some point there is nowhere to move to. Anyone who even suggests moving, is a fool. Anyone who suggests to vote the left out is also a fool, because corrupt politicians own the election systems in those states. The only option is to organize and revolt – remove a tyrannical government along with their cop thugs, as the Constitution allows. Too bad we don’t have the same kind of patriots as we did in 1775!

  • Matt October 4, 2021, 12:23 pm

Do what a lot of people are doing in blue states. Move to a friendlier environment. It could save your life and the life of your family.

Last year legally armed citizens shot more criminals than the police according to the FBI. The police will never get there in time. You are the first responder.

    • RicoTorpe October 4, 2021, 5:10 pm

      100% correct!

“When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.”

      • Rattlerjake October 8, 2021, 7:42 pm

“Minutes away”, that’s if they even come!

  • Greg T October 4, 2021, 12:12 pm

I fully support him for defending his home and property but with the high end cars that he has why would you leave them unlocked knowing that he is being targeted? And having that much money why not have a secured garage on property.

    • hippybiker October 8, 2021, 8:10 am

And, the Police are under no legal obligation to protect anyone. Please look up Warren vs DC Metro Police 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals 1981.
The Court upheld the decision of the lower court that the Police are under no obligation to protect anyone. Please, also read Dial 911 And Die published by JPFO.

  • James October 4, 2021, 11:48 am

This is what the current administration would like the entire United States to look like, total control over every aspect of your life including complete your children. Leave these states if you can; if not, do all you can at every level of government to vote in people that put the country and it’s citizens first, instead of themselves, and power.

  • D.J. October 4, 2021, 11:36 am

Not too smart there , Mr. Wexler .
One must know local ordinances , be aware of the situation ,
tactically , and be prepared to take the results of violating
    said laws .
I doubt that many localities would be supportive of allowing
rounds to go flying at will , especially in a ” high-end ”
neighborhood in the ” People’s republic of Jersey ” .

  • Swave n deBoner October 4, 2021, 11:10 am

Solve all your problems by moving out of the Socialist Republic of New Jersey!

  • Hal Edwards October 4, 2021, 10:41 am

Criminals obviously are the NJ Governments biggest voter base. Nice tats by the way.

  • Cliff Lancaste October 4, 2021, 9:27 am

Remind me never to go to Jersey

  • Dumbfounded October 4, 2021, 8:54 am

The state of new jersey offers more protection and services to criminal and illegal aliens than it does to the law-abiding taxpayers. Absolutely pathetic that I still live in that state. Shame on me…..

  • Marc G October 4, 2021, 8:54 am

NJ does not allow “standard capacity “ mags in most firearms. They are a reduced capacity state (10 rounds max).

  • SuperG October 2, 2021, 10:53 am

New Jersey, one of the original colonies, is today a sad example of deteriorated state and local government. They are an insult to freedom, and to America, as they punish the innocent and ignore the guilty.

    • Michael D October 8, 2021, 7:10 am

Wouldn’t New Jersey qualify as a “failed state” like our government is so adept at creating all over the planet
How did this guy manage to become so wealthy while being so clueless? Millions in rich man’s “toys” just laying around, unlocked, sometimes with the keys in them, in an unsecured area save video surveillance. Who leaves exotic cars worth from $500k to over $1MM ungaraged? ANy sensible gun owner doesnt go nilly-willy discharging a rifle in a populated, much less a DENSESLY populated area! What ever happened to rock salt loads in a shotgun for “giving lessons/warnings”?

      • Rouge1 October 8, 2021, 9:31 am

Spoken like a true clueless American cuck.
