Winchester announced this week that ammo prices are set to rise starting May 1, 2021.
The hike in price will affect all “pack sizes, sub-brands, and special make-ups.” It will also affect all shipments, including those on backorder that are sent on or after that May 1st roll-out date.
Purchasers who do not want to pay the new prices need to contact Winchester to cancel their existing orders.

It appears one more company is jumping onto the Covid excuse bandwagon. I have called a few of the manufacturers, and they say they are working 24/7 to produce the need for the demand.
We all believe in capitalism as that is what this country is built on; however, we see CV19 as the excuse for most all negative responses from every economic station. We have all seen what happens with price increases; they never go down…unless one stops buying into the spewed rhetoric.
As with everything we have seen since 2008, the middle man has fewer choices for entertainment. Trap, skeet, SC’s, and paper bunching was the extent of my fun. As long as the rich continue to buy the ammo, the middle man can pony up or stop shooting!
If they can’t take our guns, they will take our ammo!
Keep panic buying and hoarding and then complain about the lack of availability and rising prices when you are the cause of current prices and policies.

This thing is so much bigger than just Winchester raising prices. I don’t know where you live but everything I go to purchase has gone through the roof. My grocery bill is up 30%, gas 60 cents a gal, and ordinary everyday living expenses all are on the rise, so how long can any company absorb the rising cost of materials without increases. If you want a to blame someone put it where it belongs we were on a roll until all out governors started all this containment, shutdown, and control the masses BS !!!
When the genius’ decided to kowtow to those demanding more money instead of explaining to them what was going to do to the economy, Mickey Ds was my first example of absurdity. 10$ for coffee, burger, and fries. I looked at the kid and asked what happened. he didn’t blink when he told me he was now making 10$/hr. Sadly, 10$ was be beginning, for we see those in charge looking at 15$/hr.
I have to call bulls$#! on this new ammo shortage. No way is production NOT being throttled. Every spring for as far back as I can remember every retailer that sold ammo and clay birds had pallets of each on the floor. Every Walmart…pallets..walmart foolishly got out of ammo so where did all those pallets go? Thousands of pallets filled with cases of ammo. I’m not buying they can’t make enough. The clay bird pallets are still there, where the hell are all the pallets of shot shells? That production capacity didn’t just disappear. This “shortage” is the same as the last 2, contrived by the manufacturers, and if a state AG starts probing the gouge I bet it disappears faster than liberal votes at a recount.

I’ve never been a fan of , nor do I use , Winchester ammo.
Primers unreliable , brass splits , & etc. I suppose supply & demand rules

While I want to buy USA, why are we not seeing, for example, primers available from foreign companies? No, not China! But Foreign companies are not having to deal with Democrat tyranny that is driving our ammo scarcity (or is it the government making it scarce?). Why are we not seeing foreign companies rush in to make great money by filling our shelves with reloading supplies and finished ammo? Is this also our tyrannical government blocking these sources?
Previous governments banned some foreign manufacturers from selling here. Other foreign manufacturers are actually directing their production to the US instead of their local markets, but will not add production because they are expecting current US government to ban importation of firearms and ammo by executive order.
Thanks to the Obumba and Bumbling BIDEN Adminstrations we are losing more of our rights. The ammo manufactures are liars about the supply of Ammo who is buying all the ammo? Freedom of Information Act.

It will get worse. Remington’s funeral will leave a big hole in the ammo market, giving the green light for other mfg’s to raise their prices also.
My opinion is I think we can blame the retailers for this increase in prices. I bet Winchester is sitting there watching all the stores triple and quadruple the prices on the ammo that they are selling to retailers and are pissed they aren’t making those profits, but hey now they are and the rest will probably follow.
With the profits they already make they must be lining their pockets even more.

Doesn’t matter. No ammunition of any kind around here OR rerloading components. Ammunition companies are sandbagging primers for their production, allegedly, but theres no ammunition to be had so where are all the primers going.
Where are all the primers going? Why, to the Government, of course! Remember a few years ago when it was uncovered that various “Humanitarian? and “Relief” Agencies of the US Government, then under the control of Barrack Hussein Obama, were buying MILLIONS of rounds of ammunition, the purpose of which was never disclosed? Additionally, the Government doesn’t WANT reloaders to HAVE primers, as that’s an uncontrollable source of ammunition…
Boycott Winchester. They are trying to use demand and lack stock to justify a price increase. If their supply goes up they have no choice but to recend the increase or go out of business. If they are selling everything they are making (ie. .backorders) then they are making more than enough to cover any price increase at this point. They are trying to capitalize on demand plain and simple. They did not plan for or foresee this demand increase, so they are trying to capitalize on it and punish the consumer. Plain and simple. They want you to pay for more manufacturing facilities to produce more product which in turn generates more revenue. They want you to pay for it not the share holders.
Stop buying their ammo at exorbitant, gouging prices, it’s the only way to even things out. The longer the “panic buying” goes on, the more excuses anyone has to super-inflate prices as long as some are willing to pay sky high prices, everyone will suffer. We’re already starting to see availability and stocks increase, if no one is willing to pay the outrageous prices, they will come down when demand stops being so high.
This is the truest comment to be had stop buying ammo yes I buy carry ammo but 2boxes at a time and last a month must stay in practice canceled carry is the most important thing at this time and have to stay sharp for my own good but the rest will have to wait a while I’m using stash for week end shoots and electronics for in home practice just make sure you close your curtains remember red flag laws
There are a lot of new buyers who have no idea of the prices two years ago, or just want any ammo for their otherwise piece of art in metal and plastic.
It’s about time we stop buying anything firearms/ammo related!!!! As long as we pay it they will keep us on a string!!!!
