Description: A great condition Remington Model 31 pump shotgun. A very early "Deluxe" version with upgraded wood and checkering and corn cob checkered forend. Very early production and very low SN 5746 which I believe makes it a 1931 and first year of production gun.

This gun is equipped with a Lyman Cutts compensator that reduces recoil and accepts interchangeable chokes. This one is choked Mod or .725. Standard Lyman Cutts chokes allow the screw in chokes to changed. Remington 31s were created to compete with Winchester Model 12s and the Rems are said to have "ball bearing" slides. Many think they are the best pump gun ever made.

This one has a period correct buttpad that's hardened and will need to be replaced.

The wood has deluxe figuring and no cracks and is original to the gun. The checkering is very good. The metal and blue are very good. Light handling marks. A great example of a pump made from solid steel and hand finished during the glory days of Remington.

Nearly as light as an Ithaca Model 37 and will make somebody a great upland bird, trap, skeet or small game gun that will last a lifetime.

Hard to find gun. Impossible to find a deluxe version in this condition.
