It has no markings on the barrel, RLC on the lock. Or any of the metal parts of the gun. On the right side of the stock it has the initials R B and on the left side is a star like design. These look to be added when the gun was new. I found an identical gun on a webpage of original Hawken guns. But I haven’t been able to locate it again maybe you can have more luck. I have had several so called experts who they don’t think it a Hawken but the guy with the website says it is so I’m going with him. Two of the screws on the front of the stock have been replaced and the one on the hammer has been damaged other than that the gun is in very nice condition all though I don’t recommend shooting it because of the rear tang lock they are known to break the stock due to weakening it.some body dry fired the rifle and ruined the nipple so I replace it, I still have the original and will send it with the gun. The original ram rod is missing not unusual for very old guns. This gun was not made by Samual Hawken but by his brother Jacob Hawken that’s why it’s not stamped S Hawken on the barrel.
