Magpul Bipods Shipping! Ruger Hunter American Stocks Too

Magpul is now shipping their recently announced, highly sought-after bipod. The Magpul Bipod is a fresh take on a shooting staple that’s turning heads everywhere.

What makes the Magpul Bipod so appealing is that it really is a new take on what many people considered to be established technology. Their bipod is light, compact, rugged and affordable — everything you’d expect from Magpul.

Magpul offers the bipod with three different mounting options, too, so shooters don’t have to reconfigure their rifles to use them. They have Picatinny, A.R.M.S. 17S and M-Lok mounting options all available now. They come in black and flat dark earth, too.

The company is also pleased to say that the Hunter American Stock is shipping too. These stocks are a great option for shooters looking to upgrade their Ruger American rifles.

Both the bipod and stock use stainless steel and hard-anodized 6061 T-6 aluminum components overmolded and reinforced with Magpul polymer. This makes them durable and lightweight. The stock weighs just 3.3 pounds and the bipod an impressive 11 ounces.

The bipod conceals internal springs that tension the legs in the stowed and deployed positions. This keeps the bipod tight and snag-resistant in the field. The bipod rests close to its rifle’s handguard or forend, dropping down just 2.3 inches and measuring 3.3 inches wide. The legs lock into place with steel push-button locking knobs and can be extended one-handed.

The legs telescope from 6.3 to 10.3 inches long, for solid range shooting from a bench or prone. They have seven locking detents in half-inch increments.

The bipod has pan and tilt ability with 40 degrees of pan and 50 degrees of tilt. Users can lock the pan at zero degrees while still tilting freely. And the locking knob is knurled and rubber-coated for ease of use in all conditions.

In addition to the polymer molding the bipod has hardened rubber feet that are replaceable and compatible with most Atlas-pattern parts. All the parts are squeak- and rattle-free.

The bipods are priced right at just $109 in both colors. Due to high demand, prices are likely to stay close to MSRP, at least following the launch. Down the line it’s likely that they will retail for less than $100.

That’s good because a lot of Magpul fans are going to want one for their soon-to-be-upgraded Ruger American rifles. The Hunter American Stock is also affordable at $299.

The Hunter American Stock features a cast aluminum bedding block and steel recoil lugs for a lifetime of use. Currently the Hunter American Stock is for short-action Ruger rifles.

The stock offers a fully-adjustable length of pull and comb height with spacers and a modular cheek rest. It has an AICS-pattern magazine well and ships with a 5-round Magpul PMAG 7.62 AC magazine. Overall it’s a compelling drop-in upgrade that users can install without a gunsmith.
