Per local media, six people were killed and 12 others were injured when a gunfight broke out involving at least two people in Sacramento’s downtown district.
While an investigation is ongoing to determine how the incident unfolded and what prompted the gunfire, President Biden put forth his thoughts on how the country can eliminate these attacks in the future.
Along with touting his administration’s “comprehensive gun crime reduction strategy,” Biden said, Congress needs to “Ban ghost guns. Require background checks for all gun sales. Ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. Repeal gun manufacturers’ immunity from liability.”
In short, more gun control.
But this makes no sense. Not only does California already have those laws on the books (with the exception of the repeal of the PLCAA) and they didn’t stop the perps, it appears that they were only marginally applicable in this case.
As Alan Gottlieb, the founder of the Second Amendment Foundation noted in an email to GunsAmerica, “Biden’s answer to the tragic Sacramento killings is a shell game.”

“The rest of us are asking,” Gottlieb continued, “What were these violent criminals doing out in the street with prior arrests and outstanding warrants?”
Biden’s call to essentially foist California’s draconian and ineffectual gun laws on the rest of the U.S. has nothing to do with “saving lives” or stopping criminals and everything to do with chilling the 2A rights of law-abiding citizens.
It’s hard to see it any other way when it’s abundantly clear, based on what transpired over the weekend in Sacramento, that disarming good guys doesn’t make bad guys less dangerous.
All the laws in California don’t mean a thing as long as some shit head can go to Nevada or Arizona and buy as many guns as he likes so he can sell them to the gang bangers in California for three times the price. If all the states in the US made it harder to buy a gun then maybe only the good guys like us would have guns.

Last Sunday morning’s shooting in Sacramento that killed 6 and wounded 12 has been determined to be caused by gang activity.
Of the 3 suspects arrested for unlawful firearm possession charges, all three are coincidentally, black males whom are well known parolees from the criminal justice system. One of the 6 deceased, one black female, was coincidentally friends with 2 of the brothers who are still at this time, main suspects.
Question, where are the Black Lives Matter protestors to be found, for bringing attention to black people being killed in America’s streets? Are the BLM protestors only interested when the police are the cause of black person’s deaths or a non-black person, like Kyle Rittenhouse is acting in self-defense?

The design of firearms used in crimes is irrelevant.
The solution to curbing firearm-related violence is to enhance sentences for those who use firearms while committing crimes.
A good suggestion would be to add 10-20 (mandatory) years to a sentence of a person who used a firearm in the commission of a felony.
That would constitute “gun control”.

California already has the most stringent gun control laws in the USA but what we don’t have is strong criminal control and unfortunately, the Republican Party does not have strong Democrat control.
The shooting early last Sunday morning which killed 6 and wounded 12 was a gang disagreement where innocent people were caught in the crossfire. The still unfolding news story informs us that 5 shooters were involved and over 100 empty casing were recovered as evidence as they were scattered over the City’s streets, Three have been arrested and one is out on bail. All three are felons who had handguns in their possession. No one has yet been charged with homicide or murder.
What the Democrats still fail to learn from is, the criminals, the gang members, and the felons don’t obtain their guns like honest law abiding citizens do, where mandatory background checks are required for all firearm sales and all ammunition sales as they obtain their guns from burglary, theft, and trades for drugs and favors.
All of California’s existing gun laws already on the legislative books didn’t save these 6 peoples lives or protect the 12 wounded people during last Sunday morning’s shootout. What California really needs is not moe gun control but much stronger criminal control, but when the Governor releases convicts early due to health concerns over Covid and because California’s prisons are too crowded, well, we get what we get, which doesn’t seem quite fair to all of the honest law abiding citizens.

California’s Governor Gavin Newsom outlawed capital punishment by his own executive order even after the citizen voters, voted to keep capital punishment as a tool to deter crime.
It sounds like they have arrested a guy under suspicion of being this shooter. This guy is a prohibited possessor on several counts and has strong ties to Arizona. How did he come into possession of a firearm? Did he acquire this firearm in Arizona and cross state lines? We need to crack down on the methods that these dangerous mass shooters are getting weapons – straw purchasers and FFL holders failing to rigorously guard against them. These states with more relaxed gun purchasing procedures are undercutting states with more rigorous gun purchasing procedures – see for example the Indiana to Chicago pipeline or Virginia to NYC or even Arizona to Mexico! We need to standardise gun violence prevention procedures across the nation. How much more blood of patriots must be spilled to water the tree of liberty before we say enough?
The main shooter was a convicted violent felon who had no business being given parole a few weeks prior. Even the DA pleaded against parole and warned he was a danger to society. Gun or not, he was bound to kill someone and the parole board appointees have blood on their hands
