The Dept. of Justice announced this week the formation of “firearms trafficking strike forces” to help combat violent crime in major U.S. cities.
The five units will focus on “illegal gun trafficking in significant firearms trafficking corridors” to stem the flow of firearms into New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area and Washington, D.C.
Designated U.S. Attorneys will lead the teams in conjunction with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), state and local law enforcement agencies.

“Working with our local partners to tackle violent crime is one of the Justice Department’s most important responsibilities,” said Attorney General Merrick B. Garland in a press release obtained by GunsAmerica.
“Today, the department is taking another concrete step to address violent crime and illegal firearms trafficking,” he continued. “Our firearms trafficking strike forces will investigate and disrupt the networks that channel crime guns into our communities with tragic consequences. This effort reflects our shared commitment to keep communities safe.”
Violent crime is certainly on the rise. In New York City, shootings were up 73 percent in May of 2021 from the previous year. Chicago is on pace to set a record for most killings in any year over the last nine, with 294 homicides through June 12th.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said this week that the president will hold a press conference on Wednesday to discuss what he is “going to do to help address” the problem, especially gun-related violence, “as we’ve seen around the country it is a concern of many Americans.”
Democratically-run cities with stringent gun control are struggling the most with this crime wave. Is that a coincidence? Or could it be that they are reaping what they sow?

Defunding the police, decriminalizing certain offenses (including theft, see video above), releasing violent offenders, making it impossible for law-abiding citizens to defend themselves all sound great when progressive politicians want to pay lip service to “woke” social justice warriors, but in the real world, they have deadly consequences.
But maybe a high body count is the result they’re actually seeking with those asinine policies. Manufacture a crisis and don’t let it go to waste — exploit it!!! After all, it’s much easier to pass more gun control, grow the Nanny State, and create things like federal “strike force” units when there is blood in the streets.
Because if anything encapsulates the prevailing mindset nowadays, it’s this, “The average man does not want to be free. He simply wants to be safe.”
Creepy Joe and Giggles don’t inspire any confidence at all where large problems are concerned. I’d trust these two dorks to manage the Easter Egg Hunt on the South Lawn of the WH, but beyond that, nothing more!
How can store owners, businesses trying to survive, and employees, stand by while certain groups of people are allowed “free everything”? Don’t they see that this is “tyranny”? Why let them do it? Pack heat and defend your store, your home, your possessions and your rights. These animals will not respect you unless you make sure they understand– They must respect you and respect the rights of all USAmerican citizens. Crimes don’t get a free pass just because some cult marxists start spouting their diatribe through Big Media and the internet. Wake up, people !!! When crooks cross the line, remind them exactly where that line is. It’s our right and our duty to defend this country, not some “officials” right and duty only. WE have that right and duty just as much as the officials have it. That’s why we have the Second Amendment.

Politicians always want to write new laws when they don’t have the guts and intestinal fortitude to enforce the laws already on the books. Grandstanding versus grunt work.

It’s the gangs who actively procure and use them to kill each other no matter who’s in the way.

Why do they need to stop gun trafficking……….they have the most restrictive gun laws in those cities and criminals obey laws so whats the point? Or has somebody been telling the public lies……..
