Springfield Armory has announced the launch of three exciting new color options for their popular Hellion 5.56mm bullpup. The latest offerings include Desert FDE, OD Green, and Gray, adding style to the already acclaimed 16”-barreled platform.
Originating in 2022, the Hellion responded to demands for superior ballistic performance in a compact, modular form. It’s a bullpup system, placing the action and magazine behind the trigger, allowing for a shorter overall length while maintaining downrange effectiveness.
The semi-automatic Hellion, based on a Croatian design, is tailor-made for the American market. It boasts AR-pattern magazine compatibility, replaceable AR-pattern pistol grips, M-Lok slots, and six QD mounts.
It’s versatile, featuring a reversible ejection system, fully ambidextrous controls, a five-position collapsible buttstock, and a two-position adjustable gas system.

Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing at Springfield Armory, remarked on the Hellion’s immediate success. He notes the combination of proven performance and compact handling as key factors.
“With these new colors available for the 16”-barreled gun, bullpup enthusiasts have even more options from which to choose,” said Kramer.
Priced at $1999, each variant caters to different needs, including low-capacity versions for restricted areas. The Hellion is available in Desert FDE, OD Green, and Gray, along with their low-capacity counterparts.
