Crazy! Toronto Cops Advise Surrendering to Carjackers

2nd Amendment – R2KBA Current Events This Week

So, get this: Toronto’s finest are basically telling folks to roll out the red carpet for carjackers. At a neighborhood safety chat in February, Constable Marco Ricciardi dropped this gem:

“To prevent the possibility of being attacked in your home, leave your fobs at your front door, because they’re breaking into your home to steal your car. They don’t want anything else.”

Yup, you heard that right. “Just let ’em take the car, they don’t want your TV, or you wife” he seems to be saying.

It wasn’t long before Toronto police walked back that insane advice.

“An officer at a recent community meeting suggested that people leave the keys to their vehicle in a faraday bag by the front door. While well meaning, there are better ways to prevent auto theft motivated home invasions,” Toronto police told citizens on X.com Wednesday.

Toronto’s dealing with a crazy spike in car thefts. Six million people in the metro area and it’s like a free-for-all with cars disappearing left and right.

Toronto PD’s press release even said home break-ins for car theft are up a whopping 400% since last year. The bad guys are packing heat and not just going after cars on the streets, but breaking into houses for them.

Instead of throwing in the towel as Constable Marco Ricciardi suggested, they put out a few tips that don’t involve gift-wrapping your vehicle for carjackers:

  • Park vehicles in garage, if possible
  • Ensure your driveway is well lit and keep exterior lights on all night
  • Security cameras are an asset
  • If possible, install a home security system – activate alarm on STAY when home and AWAY when out
  • Consider having a motion detection alarm connected to your cell phone
  • Put security film on glass windows and doors
  • Have multipoint door locks on your doors
  • Keep backyard gates locked and ground windows secured
  • Do not post on social media when you will be away on holiday
  • Report suspicious vehicles/persons in the neighbourhood to police

The Canadian Finance and Leasing Association says a car is stolen every six minutes in the country. That’s like, during your coffee break, poof, there goes another car.

However, even with those tips, armed Toronto carjackers still have the upper hand. It makes you wonder, if only there were a way for the average Joe to level the playing field…

How about killing the criminals where they stand and leave them to rot in a ditch. Then follow that with the petty tyrant cops that want to show up.

“Toronto Police: Useless As T*ts On A Boar Hog” should be their new motto.

Why not pack them a snack while you’re at it. This is the kind of police force you want to defund.

The correct solution would be to make it illegal to be a victim of car theft, and severe penalties for being a victim
