While some companies didn’t have anything new to show off at SHOT Show this year, InfiRay had a pile of new and interesting products. They ranged from standalone thermal scopes to clip-on systems to lightweight helmet-mounted devices.
When it comes to electronic optics, there are a lot of options included and nifty features embedded within the software that is onboard each thermal device.

Let us take a short look at some of the new products that InfiRay announced at SHOT Show this year:
RICO PRO 640 Variable 25/50mm Thermal Weapon Sight
The RICO Pro is new for this year, and for those familiar with the RICO, the Pro uses an updated lens system.
This new thermal was designed to do three things: be easy to use, provide the best image possible, and be the “most advanced dual field-of-view (FOV) thermal weapon sight available to the commercial market.”
The most unique aspect of the RICO Pro is the dual FOV objective lens that InfiRay Outdoor patented. While virtually every other thermal that exists has zoom, traditionally the magnification would just zoom in on an existing image and it would get more and more pixilated. Think of this as just zooming on a TV screen.
However, the RICO Pro has an actual optical zoom which actually enhances the image when switched from a 25mm objective to a 50mm one. This allows users to have great quality with a wide field of view, and then great quality at higher magnification with a larger objective.
The RICO PRO should be available later in Q1 and with an MSRP of $6,499.

RICO HYBRID 640 3X 50mm Multi-function Thermal Weapon Sight
Living up to the name “HYBRID,” the InfiRay RICO HYBRID can take on the role of a thermal clip-on or a stand-alone thermal weapon sight.
Aimed to provide more versatility and performance, this model provides a 2400-yard detection range and can work with day optics that use magnification up to 10X. Higher magnifications can be used, but the field of view is continually decreased as well as clarity when used past the recommended 10X.
Potentially the coolest feature of this thermal is the ability to pair it with a 2,000-yard laser rangefinder, custom reticle generator, and an onboard ballistic solver.
One of the trickiest parts of using thermal is judging distance, so mounting a rangefinder is a great feature, but when paired with a ballistic solver, this is going to be a very potent piece of equipment.
The RICO HYBRID should be available in Q1 with an MSRP of $7,500.

RICO G-Series: GL35, GH35, GH50, & GH50R
InfiRay Outdoor added four new thermals to its G-Series lineup to include the GL35, GH35, GH50, and GH50R. Each of these thermals uses InfiRay’s 12 μm detector technology to get a crisp, high-contrast image.
They all feature onboard recording and a 1024×768 AMOLED display. The GL35 uses a 384×288 sensor and a 35mm objective, the GH35 uses a 640×512 sensor and a 35mm objective, the GH50 uses a 640×512 sensor and a 50mm objective, and the GH35 uses a 640×512 sensor, a 50mm objective, and a built-in laser rangefinder.
These should all be available sometime around mid-Q1 with MSRPs ranging from $2,999 for the GL35, and $5,499 for the GH50R.

MATE 640 50mm Clip-On Thermal Weapon Sight
For those looking to add thermal capabilities to a dedicated rifle with a day scope, the MATE will offer the thermal capabilities you need without changing your setup.
Using a high-performance 12 μm detector, removable control pad, and distortion-free display, the MATE boasts a “precise and repeatable transition when day turns to night.”
The MATE can be mounted in front of a day scope using a Picatinny rail, or it can be mounted directly to the objective of the existing scope.
The InfiRay Outdoor rep was telling me that the first time it is clipped on it takes some calibration to zero it, but after that, it can be removed and installed while maintaining zero. It also includes an external LRF module for those who would like to add an InfiRay range finder down the road.
The MATE will be available in Q1 with an MSRP of $6,500.
