We covered the heroics of James Kilcer recently, the retired Marine who stopped an armed robber and his accomplices at a Chevron Gas Station in Yuma, AZ last Wednesday.
You’ll recall that Kilcer acted without hesitation, disarming the armed perp and taking him to the ground while the other two perps fled the scene.
Well, this week, Kilcer was honored by the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) for his bravery and quick response during the harrowing ordeal.
Sheriff Leon Wilmot presented Kilcer on Tuesday with the YCSO Citizen’s Valor Award, the highest award for citizens whose actions warrant recognition.
“For extraordinary heroism and exceptional courage while voluntarily coming to the aid of another citizen during an incident involving criminal activity at extreme, life threatening, personal risk in an attempt to save or protect human life,” the citation reads.
Well deserved, no doubt about that.
But perhaps the best part about the award ceremony is Kilcer showed up in a MAGA hat and a “Let’s Go Brandon” t-shirt. LOL.
Awesome story and an awesome dude.
And, if you see Mr. Kilcer in public, and want to thank him for being a good Samaritan, he told Fox News that he’ll happily take a beer.
