Carey Hart, a famous motocross freestyler and husband to pop star Pink, faced backlash on social media this week after posting images of his kids learning to shoot firearms.
“Fun morning shooting w/ my kids! Willz is getting seriously good w/ the rifle and handling of a firearm. And Jamo absolutely loves shooting! And the rate that he is processing the handling of them, he makes me proud,” Hart posted on Instagram.
“I’m a firm believer in teaching my kids to shoot, but more importantly, handle a firearm. No better sound than the bullet of your kids gun plucking a steel target at 30 yards,” he said.

Fun morning shooting w/ my kids! Willz is getting seriously good w/ the rifle and handling of a firearm. And jamo absolutely loves shooting! And the rate that he is processing the handling of them, he makes me proud. I’m a firm believer in teaching my kids to shoot, but more importantly, handle a fire arm. No better sound than the bullet of your kids gun plucking a steel target at 30 yards 🤘🏼🤘🏼. Have a great weekend, everyone. #IfYourDontLikeItScrollOn #PokeTheBear
His post didn’t escape the notice of the woke mob, of course.
“Doesn’t strike me as a kids activity … not at all. [Your] son is 3 or 4 at most and learning to shoot a gun?” replied one commenter. “No one asked you,” Hart responded.
“Explain why this is important to someone from Europe,” another commenter demanded. “It’s not my job to explain common sense,” Hart said.
Another commenter from Australia wondered why anyone would ever need a firearm.
“I understand using guns for hunting etc they are used here for that purpose as but the thought of needing one for protection is crazy to me,” the person wrote. “We have gun laws here in Australia we are lucky to see on the news maybe 5 to 10 gun related crimes a year in the whole country and it shocking when we do! It just interesting to me how different things can be.”
Most of the comments were positive, but Hart also had to field questions from pro-gun commenters wondering why he would support Democrats who are opposed to guns.

“It’s bada — you are teaching your kids. Which is why I’m so confused you would support the Democrats who have stated they will take our guns,” one user wrote on Twitter. “Unless only the rich will be allowed the privilege [sic]. Let that sink in as to why people will vote Trump.”
“1st they don’t want to take your guns, and why has none of the 44 before been able to take them??” Hart replied. “Second I’m a Republican who hates Trump, so I have no choice.”
Hart doesn’t just oppose Trump—he’s actively endorsed Joe Biden. While defending one of his wife’s Instagram posts, which featured the pop star wearing a Biden/Harris shirt, Hart gave his rationale for supporting the Democrat.
“Reason I am voting for him is because I ‘hope’ he puts together a great team that will do positive things,” Hart said. “And that is what most of Trump’s high-profile early [supporters were] planning for him to do. But his narcissism kicked in and away he went.”
The motorsports athlete continued: “Trump retweets white power s–t all the time. Called peaceful protesters animals, and called the racist pieces of s–t in Charlottesville ‘good people.’”
When commenters pointed out Biden’s stance on gun control, Hart claimed that the Democrat won’t be able to “take that away.”
“[The Second Amendment] is a constitutional right, and no two people (Biden and Beto) can take that away. I for one think there needs to be stricter gun laws, ‘cause guess what? That won’t affect me because I’m a law-abiding citizen,” he said.
Hart may want to reread Biden’s gun control plan—or rethink his gun collection. One of the images Hart posted includes an AR-15 pistol, which would likely be outlawed (or placed under NFA guidelines) under a Biden administration.
