Viral Video: Tuber Almost Blows Out Eye in Tannerite Accident

Current Events This Week

Social media influencer Zo Choppa is recovering from a close call after an accident involving Tannerite nearly cost him his eye.

The internet personality recently shared the harrowing experience with his followers in a series of posts and videos on Twitter.

“I’m the original creator and test dummy 😅💣💥🤦🏽‍♂️🙏🏽 thank god I’m alive. I could’ve lost an eye or severed my neck. God is good. Be safe and don’t play with Tannerite!,” said Zo Choppa in a post.

In the incident (see video above), Zo Choppa fired at the Tannerite target, which apparently was placed on a pile of logs and sticks.

Upon impact, the explosive reaction not only caused a large blast but also sent a shower of shrapnel flying in all directions. It was one of these high-speed fragments that struck the influencer in the head, narrowly missing his eye.

In the video, one can hear Zo Choppa scream out, “Ahhhh, my head, my head,” as blood pours out from the gash.

Thankfully, the influencer has since received medical treatment and is on the road to recovery.

Describing the wound above his eye, Zo Choppa said, “It passed clean through, left an air pocket. Doc had to push the air out of my wound cavity.”

Tannerite, a brand of binary explosive targets, is commonly used in firearms practice and recreational shooting. The substance is designed to create a large explosion when struck by a high-velocity projectile, such as a bullet.

Although Tannerite is legal in many states and is generally safe when used properly, accidents can occur if the substance is mishandled or misused.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers associated with the use of Tannerite and other reactive targets.

Experts advise that individuals who choose to use Tannerite should adhere to strict safety guidelines, including maintaining a safe distance from the target and using appropriate protective gear.

Zo Choppa’s near-miss will no doubt ignite a conversation about the importance of safety in online content creation. As influencers continue to push the boundaries in search of views and viral moments, the potential for accidents and injuries grows.

It is crucial for content creators to prioritize their safety and the safety of those around them, and to consider the possible consequences of their actions before engaging in risky activities.

For now, Zo Choppa is grateful to have emerged from the incident relatively unscathed and with a renewed appreciation for the importance of safety. As he cautioned, “Be safe and don’t play with Tannerite!”

Sound advice!

See the YouTube where a guy shoots a fridge full of Tannerite at 100 yards, and almost gets whacked by the fridge door when it turns into a giant speeding shell fragment? This is nothing new.

What a lightweight! Squealing like a little piggy. Jeesh!

Here’s what most won’t see, look at his truck and notice the window suddenly turns white! The concussion is so great that his side curtain air bag goes off! Never park your vehicle that close to your shooting area! With the debris that close it could have broke a window or put a piece in his radiator!

I’m an ex 1st Marine div corpsman and a current NYC ER nurse. I will never be out of work thanks to human foolishness.
Every hear of safety equipment? Apparently not. No higher education required; just copy what the “big boys” do.

No eye pro, and way too close. You know the old saying.. play stupid games, win stupid prizes. You got real lucky it was only a little cut.

Was going to comment on what a complete dumbass this cry baby is, but it’s already been covered perfectly in the rest of the comments. But honestly, you can’t expect someone wearing a mop for a haircut, calling himself Zo Choppa and speaking in Ebonics to be intelligent enough to play with tannerite. I guess he proved that. Maybe we DO need red flag laws…for idiots like this. Fool.

Tannerite, separating fools from life for just a few bucks

  • Point n Shoot April 28, 2023, 8:23 am

    Dumbass! Dumbass! Dumbass!
These are the idiots that give us a bad name. Obviously not intelligent enough to heed the warnings and observe proper distance!
Good thing is I know who you are….and know to give you a wide berth! You’re dangerous….but in a good way! You’re the only “incident” of record.
    Peace ✌

lose an eye??? this future darwin award winner should have an intervention by ANYONE!!! i blame this on movies and lack of a draft. I doubt anyone associated with that video ever was near a high order detonation let alone served where grenade day gives everyone a very good appreciation for HE. We soooo need a draft. I think that would solve a huge chunk of our problems. Just have them “train” around the border to be deployed to somewhere eventually. That terrain covers all the places right?

  • Jay April 28, 2023, 8:00 am

He too close, WAY too close!

  • Mark N. April 26, 2023, 12:40 am

Tannerite, despite multiple disclaimers from the company that it cannot cause fires, is banned in California and Utah after having caused one too many fires. So not only should one use according to instructions (and not try to see how large an explosion can be made), one should have ear, eye, and probably face protection, a fire extinguisher, and a medical kit handy. Just as with firearms, idiots and explosives do not mix.

Notice how the blast caused the vehicles air bag to deploy.

    • Don MacNicoll April 28, 2023, 1:12 pm

I thought the air bag deployed! Ran it over and over again to verify. Must have been one he’ll of a Shockwave. Something tells me they did not use the product as labeled.
