WATCH: FBI Director Wray Admits Gov’t Been Seizing Personal Data from Banks Related to Gun Purchases

2nd Amendment – R2KBA Current Events This Week

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

In a shocking revelation, Christopher A. Wray, the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), recently confirmed that the U.S. government has been quietly working in collaboration with prominent financial institutions, including Bank of America, to mine the personal data of law-abiding citizens without the use of legal warrants or subpoenas.

This data includes sensitive information such as records of firearms purchases. In the video above, you can watch Congressman Massie (R-KY) question Wray about the supposed extrajudicial surveillance.

The disclosure came on Wednesday during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on the “Oversight of the Federal Bureau of Investigation” (FBI).

Wray was also raked over the coals by Congressman Matt Gaetz. The Florida Republican sharply criticized the FBI director for numerous alleged bureau offenses, including mass violations of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) and a perceived lack of investigation into the Biden family.

Gaetz, citing low public trust in the FBI, voiced concern over Wray’s lack of scrutiny towards these issues.

Wray denied protecting anyone for political reasons, including the Biden Family, and defended the bureau, prompting Gaetz to imply that Wray’s responses were dishonest or ignorant.

Gaetz further critiqued Wray’s lack of accountability regarding personal misuse of the FISA process by FBI personnel. Despite this criticism, Wray maintained that there had been disciplinary actions taken for such misconduct.

You can watch this as well in the video above.

Why do you think the government stooge want to go to the digital dollar ? Use your critical thinking skills, so they can deny you whenever they want.

The serious problem here is that the FBI is not being specific as to the identify of the individual they are requesting the banks give them information on. That would be an individual involved in some sort of criminal investigation. They are asking for information on ALL individuals during a certain period of time. That is wrong.
They should not be allowed to do that and without giving a specific name or reason. The banks should refuse to give out any information to the FBI without an official request in writing stating it was to gather information for a criminal investigation.

remember he was put in power by trump…very sad

“Power corrupts…. absolute power corrupts absolutely.” EVERYONE is for sale….. at the right price.

  • Nobody July 15, 2023, 12:39 pm

Do you remember all those conspiracy theories?? Well they are real!!!

  • Kane July 14, 2023, 10:21 pm

Despite J. Edgar Hoover and Clyde Tolson’s abnormal life style and questionable ethics, the FBI’s first Director admired the consevative moral values Catholic Church and he wanted FBI Agents who were Catholic. Today the Catholic Church members are investigated by the FBI because of their conservative moral values.

The 3 letter Agencies in the US are going to fall more and more under the control of left-wing radicals and shills like Wray, Brennan and Chipman.

The US Military hierarchy has also been captured by the left.

They must believe the arrival of their Damian Thorne is near.

  • Matt Holmes July 14, 2023, 9:08 pm

Of course, he will admit it because he knows nothing will be done about it, no skin off of his nose, no effect on his career or retirement pay.
He knows he has R.H.I.P.(Rank Has It’s Privileged) like so many who are blatantly breaking the law.
One has to ask, though, if we were in the same position would we not do the same thing?
Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely, and very few people can avoid the temptations presented before them.

“Gov’t Been Seizing Personal Data from Banks Related to Gun Purchases”
Is not true !!! Banks have been GIVING IT even if the feds don’t ask much less NO WARRANT !!!

    • Stan d. Upnow July 14, 2023, 10:41 pm

Gaetz absolutely slaughtered that lying POS in front of everyone! I watched Wray’s body language closely, and I’ll say he was squirming & sweating as Gaetz eviscerated him continuously.
Can’t believe Trump appointed him. SMH!

  • James McMurray July 14, 2023, 3:44 pm

Isn’t this guy one of the criminals that Trump placed into the government?

  • Jeff S July 14, 2023, 3:40 pm

Anyone with a BoA account or credit card who used their accounts or cards in the DC area around that time or ever used them to purchase a firearm should request the information from BoA and sue them for violating their financial privacy. Could result in HUGE fines and possibly some compensation. Shame on BoA.

    • Stan d. Upnow July 14, 2023, 10:45 pm

Exactly. If the records were subpoenaed during litigation, or a warrant issued in a criminal case, then that’s different. But, turning all those records over because the FBI(or any other agency) merely asks for them? NO!!

  • Ralph Cramden July 14, 2023, 1:37 pm

Shady Wray has Carte Blanche to Murder as long as Joe Bribin’ Biden controls the DOJ and FBI. Who TF is going to recommend indictments if the criminals run the US Govern.? Its the foxes guarding the hen house that are committing the crimes. DemocRATS are now a criminal institution. Look how they are now openly hiding pedophelia and bashing the movie “Sound of Freedom” because it is exposing Pedophelia in their circle of community.

  • Ralph Cramden July 14, 2023, 1:27 pm

Shady Wray is a Tax payer paid crook and 70% of America knows it.

  • Bemused Berserker July 14, 2023, 12:05 pm

Thank God, I always pay cash for my Guns.

This is another example Criminal Behavior by the FBI.

    LOCK HIM UP !

  • Richard D Rose July 14, 2023, 10:24 am

The FBI and federal government act like the Gestapo and KGB. POTUS, et.al. are no better than everything I spent my life defending this country from. It is high time that “We The People” let the federal government know they work for us. I’d rather die standing as a citizen than on my knees to tyrants.

  • Ed Charles July 14, 2023, 9:45 am

There has been so much criminal malfeasance committed by Mr. Wray, that he should have been imprisoned long ago. Wray is also guilty of Treason against the USA due to his many actions against our Constitution and our country. This collusion with BofA and other un-named financial companies is also just one more criminal act. What would happen, I wonder, if Wray began collecting information with the intent of utilizing same against the lgbqt…abcd…etal, special interest groups and those beings that walk among us? Of course this would never happen, and that just is not done, because they have special standing with very special privileges, and it would be against the interests of the regime. It would also be hypocritical of the same regime, but they continuously are guilty of that—nothing new there. Of course, if that would happen, there would be a rush by the Mainstream Media propaganda machine, with its associated “holier than though”, hue and cry and to condemn all Humans connected with such a thing to death by torture. We are being ruled by the evil in all areas of power. Wray’s criminal acts should be punished as well as all associated beings that were involved. There should be swift justice, and none of this 3-5 year trials for the rich, that always get swept under the rug. WE the People have to start somewhere.

Much as it has been for telecommunications companies, it must be clarified into law that financial data actually belongs to the individual whose financial activity is the subject of such records. And not the property of the business that merely possesses them. Thus, the possessing business is legally forbidden from releasing them in the absence of full and proper legal process–subpoena/warrant/court order.

    • Stan d. Upnow July 14, 2023, 10:55 pm

      Yes

  • Nicholas July 14, 2023, 9:10 am

This is probably actionable by anyone who is a Bank of America customer. As a matter of fact I’m thinking of moving forward with a suit.
Here is the biggest problem I will face. It will be the 2nd amendment community, and their supposed pro-2nd organizations. There will be no backing for a number of reasons. They’ve already created so much bad case law that allows courts to dismiss complaints without any lawful reasons. The community itself is so far off the track of what the Founders of this nation established that it would not be recognizable to those who signed the “Declaration” or the Constitution.
It is gut wrenching as to how far we have fallen, and how little the people of this nation understand how close we are to a disastrous end.

    • Kane July 17, 2023, 11:09 pm

Lots of questions come to mind but I will limit the focus on one issue.

Why are you a member of Bank of America? Should any militia member be a customer of a central bank?

    • Kane July 18, 2023, 12:23 pm

“I sincerely believe that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies, and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity under the name of funding is but swindling futurity on a large scale.” –Thomas Jefferson to John Taylor, 1816. ME 15:23

    • Kane July 18, 2023, 12:25 pm

“If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.” -Thomas Jefferson

    • Kane July 18, 2023, 12:30 pm

“The Bank of the United States is one of the most deadly hostilities existing, against the principles and form of our Constitution. An institution like this, penetrating by its branches every part of the Union, acting by command and in phalanx, may, in a critical moment, upset the government. I deem no government safe which is under the vassalage of any self-constituted authorities, or any other authority than that of the nation, or its regular functionaries. What an obstruction could not this bank of the United States, with all its branch banks, be in time of war! It might dictate to us the peace we should accept, or withdraw its aids. Ought we then to give further growth to an institution so powerful, so hostile?” –Thomas Jefferson to Albert Gallatin, 1803. ME 10:437

  • Marshal July 14, 2023, 8:43 am

IANAL, however I am currently working for a financial institution. There are specific rules regarding disclosing personal information on _anyone_. If Bank of America is providing customer data to the FBI without a warrant, they can be held liable. An enterprising lawyer may want to look at finding a current customer of BofA who is also a firearms owner. It might be lucrative.

    • Stan d. Upnow July 14, 2023, 11:00 pm

TG I left BOA years ago. Dropped Chase, too, once I discovered how “woke” they’d become. Now finding out that CITI also rides that bus. It’s getting bad.

  • CSH July 14, 2023, 8:23 am

I wonder if there are grounds for a class action lawsuit against Bank of America, et al for the sharing of personal information?

  • phil box July 14, 2023, 8:16 am

until we the people stand up to the tyrants this kind of invasion will only get worse.
one day it will be your turn to be investigated. are you sure you will “pass” their tests?
you do know the rules will not be what they are today.
    beware

  • Chuck Matson July 14, 2023, 7:43 am

Any breathing American that isn`t pissed with what all these unconstitutional agencies are doing are part of the problem!

  • POOP July 14, 2023, 7:03 am

” The Tree of Liberty must be Refreshed from Time to Time with the Blood of Patriots and TYRANTS ” .. Thomas Jefferson.

    • Nicholas July 14, 2023, 9:19 am

What the heck does that mean when people write comments like that? The Founders of this nation placed Militia in the Constitution, and each newly formed State carried over their Militia statutes so that we would comply with the command “to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections, and repel Invasions”; Article I, Section 8, Clauses 15.
I’ve been writing and teaching on this subject for years. What I’ve learned is that all these people in the pro-2nd community want nothing at all to do with the command that the Founders placed in the Constitution so that we would have the lawful authority to act as the only recognized law enforcement power.

      • Nick July 14, 2023, 2:09 pm

Maybe you should read the Declaration of Independence. The second paragraph of the preamble. Spells out specifically what needs done when the government reaches the point ours has. In fact it states that it is our duty to act.
May also check on when any federal agency other than the IRS was given authority to enforce laws anyplace in the United States outside of DC.
No I am not a member of any 2nd Amendment group. I am just a normal person that is sick of people who like to cherry pick through the Constitution for anything that fits their agenda and ignore the parts that don’t. The same goes with written quotes, the Declaration of Independence and every other paper written by the founding fathers. Just because you choose to ignore them doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Our founding fathers warned us about what could happen if the government grew to large and saw themselves as above the people that they are supposed to serve.

The DOJ regularly monitors state and local PDs after numerous allegations of wrongdoing or constitutional violations that have been alleged. Chicago, New Orleans, Baltimore and many others have to operate under consent decrees after the DOJ has determined they’ve side-stepped citizens constitutional rights with regularity or have done so as a standard. Isn’t this the same?
These searches and intelligence gathering operations are unconstitutional because most lack probable cause. Even with PC, the FBI is REQUIRED to seek judicial authority for searches of bank records.
With each of these newest revelations of acute constitutional violations, what are we to believe about this organization? Are their ethical standards so bent they cannot recover?
At many levels, there appears to be a strong vacuum in leadership in the Bureau that must be corrected. These are core principles of our republic for which they appear to have ZERO regard.

  • paul I'll call you what I want/1st Amendment July 14, 2023, 4:39 am

what about the stuff they are doing that hasn’t been caught yet…..you know this is not the only thing going on….

  • Mark N. July 14, 2023, 1:50 am

Any governmental agency that admits to massive and continuing violations of the fourth amendment needs a serious restructuring and unflinching Congressional oversight.
