An employee of a Philadelphia convenience store was forced to shoot back earlier this week when two armed men tried to rob her shop. Unfortunately for her, she was also shot several times in the attempted robbery.

According to reports, she was shot as many as four times at around 4 a.m. Tuesday morning in the upper thigh. She was in critical condition when first responders took her to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital.

Police say they found two guns at the location, likely the 32-year-old clerk’s gun and one belonging to one of the robbers. “He had a big gun,” said corner store manager Sammy Aloubehi.

“As soon as they went behind the counter and pointed the gun at the clerk, that’s when the clerk was able to pull her own weapon,” said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small. “I don’t know who fired first, but clearly there was a shootout between the two.”

“We believe that the reason one of the perpetrators dropped his weapon on the scene is that he may have been struck by gunfire,” Small said.

“She was a brave, young woman involved in a shootout with two males that were armed with guns. She stood her ground. We’re hoping for the best for her,” he added.

Later in the morning, a suspect matching the perp’s description was dropped off at another local hospital. The man also had multiple gunshot wounds.

“About 45 minutes after this incident took place, we were notified that a shooting victim showed up at Temple Hospital. That shooting victim was shot several times,” Small said.

Police are still on the lookout for the second suspect.

These Butt Maggots only hand out violence, so give it to them.

When you turn the other cheek and you know the thug will rip it off what do you have to lose? A 9mm travels faster than a police car. The police always get there in time to do the investigation.

  • larry February 4, 2022, 12:44 pm

You have no idea what their intentions are. Will they make a quick buck, or will they kill or rape you? They have demonstrated hostile intentions and you have every right to assume the worst. Act accordingly.

  • Arch February 4, 2022, 11:07 am

Blue Dog, how is it that you’ve developed trust for violent armed felons threatening to kill you by pointing a gun at your head? They’ve clearly demonstrated a willingness to kill you, and are risking major time in prison if caught committing armed robbery. The probability that the armed robbers have already committed violent felonies, some of which they’ve likely done time for essentially makes the current one a life sentence if caught and convicted. You trust that person to decide whether you live or die? I don’t, like the clerk in the article. I hope she survives, and the animal doesn’t.

  • SuperG February 4, 2022, 10:51 am

These perps were repeat offenders, as armed robbery isn’t a entry level crime for most. She gave an appropriate response, as nobody can forecast what seasoned criminals will do. They could have just left after getting the cash, or they could have killed all witnesses. For me, I’d rather die on my feet, fighting for my life, than kneel down and be slaughtered like a sheep. I hope she makes a complete recovery, both physically and mentally.

  • CBSnake February 4, 2022, 9:17 am

Hat’s off to the store clerk. She is lucky she did not bleed out from the femoral artery with 4 shots to the thigh. I hope she has a speedy recovery . I hope the criminal that got away does not come back for revenge at store.

    • Mark Wynn February 4, 2022, 12:00 pm

“four shots to the thigh with “a big weapon” does not sound good for a full recovery without lasting disabilities. I wasn’t there so I can’t opine whether the best move was to cheerfully let the felons have the money or attempt to shoot it out …. there’s a reason that stop and shop chains instruct employees to not resist. (I have a concealed carry permit so don’t give me any bs …)

Me: How much is your life worth, Rusty?
    Criminal: Nuttin’.
Rusty: I thought the criminal was here for the money, The “stuff” which I was willing to give him.
Me: You’re right. He came here to rob you of your dollars.
Criminal: But I don’t need you identifying me. So…you know…
Criminal: Besides that, I hate you. But I really like your wife and daughters. So….
    Rusty: Uhhhh.
Criminal: I came for dollars, but will stay for the fun.
Me: see, Rusty, my boy. THAT’s why you’re dead. And that’s why your family is either dead or tied up and enjoying their time with Criminal.
    Me: Got it yet?

Perhaps I wasn’t clear with my post.

I carry everyday, everywhere I can. My point is the criminal element needs to seriously look at the risks they are putting themselves in.

When they decide to threaten life/well-being of others, they de-evolve into animals, take your pick; rabid feral dogs and/or rattlesnakes.

THEY make the decision to not participate in civilized society.

I will (and have!) defend myself, my family, and innocent bystanders to the best of my abilities and equipment on hand!

Perhaps if the perps would be required by OSHA to fill out Job Safety Analysis sheets before their heists, they might realize the risks; this would also remove any liability on the behalf of the citizens they prey on who have the audacity to defend themselves/property, as they would have already recognized the risk & signed their name to it.

Sarcasm in the last bit there, jic anyone is wondering!!

AH the old saying comes to mind. It takes fire 🔥 to fight fire in most cases. Please let’s get some politicians in place to take us back to the old days of the wild west when everyone carried. Maybe knowing that it could curb lots of crime putting some caution ⚠️ in the mind of these street thugs.

  • Kimberly February 4, 2022, 7:57 am

What Rusty said is right, they kill you so no witness, but you would want her to stand there unarmed and get shot with not even the slightest chance of fighting. You want guns out of her hands but let the killers robbers etc, keep theirs. I hope you people that want us to give our weapons, the bads aren’t gonna go, oh no new law and run to the nearest cop and say here ya go, I don’t want to break the law. 2hat you purpose is a death sentence for anyone not 2orking in a bullet proof cell, while criminals run freely with guns, great plan, but nope sorry to tell ya your not gonna give you mine others I personally know with out one hell of a fight. Lot people have more than one, the American people combine have more guns than most countries.

Your gonna say see that’s why, how many nukes are in your reach Biden, you get rid of yours a lot deadlier, and your crazy, that’s who needs to have his arsenal taken.

UNTIL PEOPLE START SHOOTING CRIMINALS GRAVE YARD DEAD, NOTHING WILL CHANGE—A DEAD CRIMINAL WONT HAVE A LONG DRAWN OUT EXPENSIVE TAX PAYER PAID TRIAL , A SHORT JAIL TIME, AND WILL NEVER COME BACK TO ROBBING AND KILLING AGAIN…

  • Bob Williams February 4, 2022, 3:42 am

How do you know she wouldn’t have been killed anyway now it’s known they shoot back maybe they won’t be so quick to come back

  • Wayne Billings February 3, 2022, 1:59 pm

The question is how much is your life or their life worth to them?Nothing. If you don’t shoot these scum regardless if they are someone father brother or what ever .Everyone is related to someone. If they have no fear they will rob at will and kill .Or just let them pick up theri $950.00 dollars worth and leave.Shoot them ,stop them

  • Blue Dog (he/him) February 3, 2022, 11:23 am

Glad she is still alive. She is lucky the robbers didn’t kill her with her own handgun.

Most retail establishments encourage not resisting robbery attempts and being cooperative and handing over the cash, to the point of firing employees who resist robberies. It sounds like that this is not the case here. I don’t mean to suggest that she should be fired; I do mean to put forth the question – how much was the life of the clerk worth? Or even the robbers? She resisted with potentially lethal force, whether or not that force was effectively lethal aside, she received four rounds in her leg for how much money in the register? How likely is it to have been $600 or more? Is that worth potentially three lives? Even the life of some smash and grab, penny ante street thug image bearer should be worth more than $200.

How much is a stranger’s life worth to you? Put a number on it. What in your home is worth the life of someone’s son or daughter?

    • Rusty February 3, 2022, 1:48 pm

Typical…. don’t risk anything defending your life, property, etc.

Call the cops, they will show up after the fact, and ask if the owner has insurance. What a way to enforce the law and cut crime.

An associate of mine was arrested for firing over the heads of some folks stealing from his rural home, on the 11th time (at least).

At one point (the forth or fifth burglary) he held a perp, in the act of throwing his cased firearms out of his bedroom window, with his 1911. The cops DID arrest the perp, but the DA let it go, as the perp made up a BS story after the fact that completely contradicted the statements given, and evidence, at the incident.

They would not even issue a search warrant for the perps property, even though, at that point ~100 firearms had been stolen. The BATFE wouldn’t do anything, either.

All the talk of keeping guns outa bad peoples hands, but when given the opportunity, the Cops and Legal System choke. BUT, we are supposed to gladly accept more and more rules, laws, etc. limiting our freedom?????

BTW, there is a very real possibility that this story would be about a deceased female clerk who was robbed by thieves not wanting to leave a witness, if she wasn’t able to defend herself.

You have to remember, the law-abiding are NOT the ones acting as if their property is worth someone’s life, it is the criminal who takes that risk!!!!!

The inept enforcement of the law is what drives most vigilanteeism, the politicians need to recognize this fact!!

      • Blue Dog (he/him) February 4, 2022, 9:59 am

Do you know many folks practicing vigilanteism there, Paul Kersey?

    • JerryJones February 4, 2022, 5:04 am

“What in your home is worth the life of someone’s son or daughter?”

Anything that I own….It’s Mine….It might be given away at someone’s request….But NEVER…..forcibly Taken Away….. although COWARDS like YOU ….. are more than generous with other people’s Money and Possessions

    • Willie-O February 4, 2022, 6:48 am

How much is a stranger’s life worth ? What in my home is worth someone’s son or daughter ? If said stranger – be it son or daughter – happens to come into my home uninvited while I’m in it, their life is worth absolutely ZERO to me. Nothing. MY wife, son, daughter and pets for that matter are priceless. To protect them, I will punch your ticket in a heartbeat and never give it another thought. As for items in my home being worth more to me than someone’s life ? There are actually lots of them, but as long as any of us are in the home it really makes no difference – if someone enters our home while we’re in it, deadly force can (and WILL) be used. Period.
      For review:
unknown person in my home ?
      worth ZERO dollars
(fill in blank) in my home ?
      PRICELESS
There you go he/she/it/them, asked and answered. Hope that clears it up. For the record, I feel the same virtually anywhere, not just in my home. Any person who is a threat to me or mine has NO value to me whatsoever and I will do anything and everything within my power to eliminate said threat.

    • Kb31416 February 4, 2022, 7:02 am

Blue and dog turd: I will answer your final question, but slightly inverted. How much do the criminals value their lives? Not much, so I would respect their opinion.
I rarely wish misfortune on others, but karma dictates that you should receive a healthy serving of the criminal violence that you so willingly dismiss for others. Perhaps getting mugged by reality can pound a little sense into your head.

    • Thoughtful February 4, 2022, 7:24 am

To answer your question, anyone who steals while threatening or employing lethal force isn’t worth a single dime. Yes, they should be removed from society, as in immediately killed. Either by their intended victim or by 8AM the day after their guilt is ascertained. Better question, Blue Him Dog, Why do you and your leftist friends excuse criminal behavior while advocating that the law abiding submit to your “common sense gun safety” restrictions?

      • Hondo February 4, 2022, 12:09 pm

Because pronoun boy is mentally defective asswipe.

        • kb31416 February 4, 2022, 4:55 pm

Hondo: that’s rather unkind to toilet paper, don’t you think?

    • John Rogers February 4, 2022, 10:23 pm

“How much is a stranger’s life worth to you? Put a number on it. What in your home is worth the life of someone’s son or daughter?”

Pointing a firearm at me? A stranger’s life is worth 0. Which is exactly how much value he puts on my life. Why should I value the life of someone who doesn’t value mine?

The safety of the residents in my home is worth the life of someone’s son or daughter. I would not shoot any one over material possessions. I’m not gunning for somebody stealing my tv. But forcibly come into my home while my family is present, and it will end badly for the intruder.

Them being a son or daughter at that point is irrelevant. Their parents lost that child a long time ago.

    • John Doe. June 17, 2022, 8:09 am

You mean, the thug should ask what in that home is worth their life. My family inside my home is priceless. Period end of conversation. Don’t risk yours for mine.
