The HK VP9 is a striker-fired, short-recoil operated full-size 9mm pistol built around a polymer frame with interchangeable backstraps for a customizable grip. It ships with an extended MIL-STD-1913 (Picatinny) accessory rail molded into the dust cover and low-profile 3-dot, fully adjustable iron sights.
The VP9 accepts double-stack magazines in capacities including 17 rounds (standard full-size configuration), and the factory specifications list an overall length of 7.34 inches with a 4.09-inch barrel. Safety features documented by the manufacturer include a trigger safety, firing pin block, loaded chamber indicator and disassembly safety.
