The Ruger American Compact is a striker-fired, semi-automatic compact pistol chambered in 9mm Luger. It features a stainless steel slide with a black nitride finish, Novak LoMount Carry , and an integral Picatinny (1913) accessory rail. The pistol uses a one-piece, precision-machined, black-nitrided stainless steel chassis fitted into a glass-filled nylon frame and ships with interchangeable grip modules.
The Compact ships with two nickel-Teflon-plated steel magazines (a 17-round extended magazine and a 12-round compact magazine) and is offered in configurations with or without an external manual thumb safety. Verified factory specifications list a 3.55 in barrel, overall length of 6.65 in, and unloaded weight of approximately 28.7 oz. The suggested retail price is $579.
