The barrel was manufactured without a rear sight and has a hooded gold beaded blade front sight on a stippled ramp. The receiver has extensive floral scroll engraving with a gold inlaid deer on each side of the front receiver ring in a wooded scene, a gold inlaid bust of a ram on the left rear and a gold inlaid bust of a mountain goat on the right rear. There are scope mounts and rings that are engraved with an acorn and oak leaf motif along with a gold inlaid bust of a bear on the front ring and a gold inlaid bust of a bison on the rear ring. The floor plate is beautifully engraved with two moose fighting in a wooded scene surrounded by floral scroll engraving. The trigger guard, muzzle end of the barrel, breech end of the barrel and bolt knob are all engraved with an acanthus floral scroll.
The extractor is jeweled, the bolt body is electro penciled with the matching serial number on the bottom and has the late style safety. A trigger shoe is installed.
Mounted on a nicely figured, checkered walnut pistol grip stock with floral scroll carving around the edges of the checkering, sling swivels, a raised cheekpiece, a carved ivory grip cap and a serrated horn buttplate.
The stock is excellent with 99% original varnish remaining and showing a few scattered minor dings and handling marks. The checkering and carvings are sharp. The scope is excellent with a few minor marks and clear optics. The markings and engraving are sharp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
