Here we have a delightful, affordable upland gun from AyA, one of Spain’s premier gunmakers well known the world over for making solid, well finished guns. From the AyA website: The N° 4 has been AYA’s standard boxlock design since 1960. It is modelled on a Westley Richards boxlock action, brought to Spain by the King brothers. The Anson & Deeley action, the most famous of all boxlock designs, was created by two employees of Westley Richards in 1875, and ever since, Westley Richards guns have defined boxlock elegance.  This AyA, sn600744 built in 1990, is a fine upland gun indeed!  Weighing a handy 5lbs. 11oz.  and balanced perfectly just a hair ahead of the hinge pin, you can carry this gun all day with little fatigue.  The 20ga. chambering is known to be deadly on pheasants, grouse, quail, dove, woodcock and clays. The 27" barrels are of the chopper lump design, long heralded as the very best method of joining the barrels and utilized mostly in “BEST GUNS” from the likes of Purdey and Holland & Holland. The barrels are tight as new on the hinge and breech face, have mirror bores, tight ribs, 99% blue, and are choked Mod and Full with 2 ¾” chambers, complete with well-timed ejectors.  The receiver retains 99% vivid bone and charcoal case color with hand chiseled borders and is in perfect mechanical condition with crisp double triggers, auto safety, and perfect screws. The guns European Walnut is lightly figured with excellent flat top checkering. The stock has an exceptional LOP of 15 ¾” which can be rapidly altered to your specification by our in-house stock maker, a checkered butt or a pad, the choice is yours to make, please call to discuss.
