Two New Red Dot Sights from Vortex, Plus Updates to the Razor Line of Rifle Scopes—SHOT Show 2014

If you’re not familiar with Vortex, they’re an optics company in central Wisconsin. The operating philosophy is to take care of their customers. As you would expect, their customer service is great. In fact, when you buy a product from them it comes with a no excuses warranty – if the product proves defective or gets accidentally damaged in any way, they will fix it for free. No need for receipts or warranty cards, and it’s transferrable should you sell your optic. Ya gotta like that.

Vortex introduced 2 new red dot sights at SHOT Show this year. STRIKEFORCE and STRIKEFORCE II are on- power red dot sights with a number of combinations to choose from including green as well as red dots. From what I could see, it looks like the principal difference between the two is the lens coatings and mount. The STRIKEFORCE comes with either a low mount or a high mount to co-witness with AR sights. The STRIKEFORCE II comes with a forward cantilevered mount to mount magnifiers and iron sights on the same rail. They both have 4 moa dots, red/green or bright red dots, and a weight of 7.2 ounces. MSRP starts at $229. They also added new reticles for their popular Razor HD scope and an illuminated dial on the Razor HD Gen II. Take a look.

I thought they had problems with the sight turning on when stuck into a gun case. If so did they address this problem in the “new” model? I have to say these are pretty decent optics across the board. Entry level to “Whoa” prices on their scopes.
