This is a Smith & Wesson .44 Russian Ctg. Top Break Model. It was manufactured in 1888 and fitted with genuine pearl handles. It is in great working condition. All of the lines and letter engravings are clear and crisp including the serial numbers. The action, hinges and springs have quick, tight and precise movement. Nothing is loose, there is no play in any part of this piece. Top of Barrel Markings Read as follows: SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A. PAT'D JAN. 17 & 24. 65 (LINE 2)JULY 11. 65. AUG. 24. 69. JULY 25.71 DEC. 2. 79. MAY 11 & 25 OF 1880 The side of the barrel reads: .44 S&W CTG The serial number is clearly marked on the bottom of the pearl handle and on the chamber when broke open and is: 45404 This is piece is sure to compliment any collection.
