HG5683 From the first year of 2K serial number prefix production, 1970, and from a relatively peaceful career protecting and serving our fellow Tennesseans in nearby Benton County, comes this .357 Combat Magnum, numbered model 19-3. Finish has normal duty wear; extensive moderate white streaking and spotting that affects 30 percent of the metal surface by our estimate. The mail concentration comes from strap contact to the side plate, with some superficial pitting and extensive browning on the plate. Trigger sides have extensive etchy browning. Grips are period correct Sile Rosewood, no speedloader cut on the left panel. We rate this revolver as Good, perhaps Very Good, finishwise, since 70 percent of its finish is intact by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. It is Excellent mechanically. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel's forcing cone is minimal, only a faint thin streak that traverses the width of the top strap. This 19-3 has not had many magnum rounds fired through it. Bore, cylinder chambers, and mechanism are bright, clean, and excellent. Double action trigger pull is exceptionally smooth. On all six positions, the hammer travels five to ten degrees after the cylinder times in double action. Single action pull is an exceptionally crisp 2 7/8 pounds. Lateral play to the cylinder is minimal with the trigger relaxed, and negligible with the trigger pulled all the way. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap is a perfect .007, measured from the right side. Sights are black ramp front and black blade windage and adjustable rear. Trigger is .265 serrated service size with strong original casehardened coloration. Hammer is .375 semi-target with visible coloration but substantial graying on its sides, as the photos show.
