Description: This is as close as most of us will ever come to owning a 947 or 647 Smith & Wesson, and it’s probably just as rare: a near-mint Charter Arms bright stainless Bulldog 5-shot revolver in 9mm Federal caliber. The 9mm Federal is, of course, a rimmed cartridge for revolvers; note, however, the slots in the ejector star shown in the photo will possibly accommodate standard 9mm ammo so long as a person has the proper moon clip, but we are unclear on this capability issue and welcome competent comment. This variant of the Pit Bull’s manufacture longevity was brief, only 1989 to 1991, but the revolver is a credit to the entire Charter line. We detect no significant finish detractions except a half dozen or so tiny scuffs that may be original to the revolver and that affect no more than 3 percent of its surface area. This little Bulldog has its original box and papers. Barrel length is 3 inches, and capacity is 5 shot. It is excellent mechanically. Blast effect to the under side of the frame topstrap directly above the forcing cone is minimal, not readily distinguishable from original factory mill marks on that surface. Bore and cylinder chambers are clean and excellent. Double action trigger pull is only mildly gritty and reasonably smooth, normal for Charters. Also normal for Charters, the hammer breaks on double action when the cylinder times into place. On single action, the hammer travels an additional 25 to 30 degrees after the cylinder times, and the single action trigger pull is a crisp 3 ¾ pounds. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap is an impressively good .008. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
