From the collection of our favorite retired Tennessee Park Ranger comes this serviceable and attractive Harrington and Richardson Barrel and Forend off a circa 1950 Topper M48 Shotgun. Barrel length is 28 inches; not 27 1/2 like the later ones, but full 28 inches. Choke is full, .630 internal diameter at the muzzle. Chambering, of course, is for 2 3/4 inch or 2 9/16 inch 16 gauge shells interchangeably, if anybody still has any of those old ones. Forend and forend lug are the old type stud and detent, not the later style nut and screw. The forend snaps off. We suppose this barrel and forend will fit many later model NEF and H&R Shotguns, but we’re not entirely clear on that. Our ranger was using it occasionally on a 1993 NEF SB-1 in 12 gauge. That would be an issue for a competent gunsmith, and we are neither. We do not believe it will fit any frame other than an original 12 or 16 gauge frame. Finish is blue steel, but with extensive browning and some superficial pitting marks about midways on the exterior surface. Forend is old original walnut, with the plastic spacer. Forend finish has extensive weathering from an old refinish job. We rate this setup Good condition, 60 percent range by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore shows some etchy texture near the muzzle; and the photos show this. There is no conspicuous pitting, however, and we do not believe the pattern will be affected. Remainder of the bore, chamber, and extractor face are clean, as the photos will also show. This is the first complete assembly like this we’ve come across in many years. We’re offering it for only $ 89.00.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Grips, Magazines, slings, holsters, scopes, mounts, parts & most any small light items, entire accessory orders only $7.00 total shipping no matter how many a person buys. $7.00 for an entire order, Not $7.00 per item or anything of the sort. $15 Flat Fee on magazine orders to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico, and gun parts to PR civilians must ship to an FFL.
