Italian manufacturer A. Uberti S.P.A. of Gardone, Italy rules the roost for quality and beauty among all the non-US manufacturers for Single Action Revolvers. Cimarron Arms of Fredericksburg, Texas, is importer since 2006 on this variant, close and faithful copy to the Single Action Army Colt. Construction is entirely steel, nickel plated. Grips are Italian Walnut originals. Barrel is 4 3/4 inch, 6 groove 1:16 right hand twist. Front sight is slot sweated blue steel with frame integral fixed notch rear sight. Type is single action only revolver; this revolver does NOT have a transfer bar, so best carried with the hammer nose type firing pin on an empty chamber. Cylinder capacity is 6 rounds of .45 Colt or Long Colt caliber ammunition. Weight empty is 40 ounces, with center of gravity at the front trigger guard junction. This revolver comes to us on a trade with an Illinois collector, its exclusive consumer owner. Surface detractions are minimal, principally a few faint short streaks on the grip panels’s glossy finish, two tiny streaks near the top of the grip frame back strap, and faint stress to the edge of the grip frame butt. Cylinder rotation marking is negligible. Carbon deposit on the frame top strap under side and cylinder face are negligible as well. If this revolver was ever fired, it was not over 18 to 24 times. We rate it as Excellent in the box, 95 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is in its original box with all its papers, including plastic bag wrapper and a never executed factory Registration card. Box edges show moderate wear with tape. From its CA Italian Date Code, it was manufactured in 2006, part of Cimarron’s First Year of Importing. Cimarron did not begin putting logo medallions in their grips until about 2008 or 2009. Replacement pricing on an original Colt will run into 5 figures. Replacement pricing on many Uberti revolvers approaches $1,000 apiece.
