The Ithaca Gun Co. produced the most iconic trap gun ever invented, the Knickerbocker Single Barrel Trap Gun. In production from 1922 until the last Knick was made in 1982, 5740 were produced. By 1935 the Knick in the hands of able shooters won the Grand American Handicap six times, by 1976 was responsible for over 25% of the total wins at the Grand American, and has been the most well known single barrel trap gun in American history. This gun, sn404498 was made in 1959 and was personally signed by famed master engraver Bill McGraw. McGraw did not sign his work often, so this is a very nice "EXTRA" to have on a fine trap gun. Nothing has been altered on this gun since it left the factory, with 99% factory blue, 80% factory case color, 80% factory trigger guard blue, and all of the original factory wood finish. The bore, chamber, and choke are all factory as well. The factory wood finish had a tendency to "crinkle" or get hairline crazing and this one has that issue, though not a bad case. For those that want complete original finishes, this gun is it. For those that want the finely figured wood to have a perfect finish, add $375 to the cost and about 6 weeks to strip and refinish the wood.
