This revolver was produced prior to 1898 and thus is an antique that can be sold in any state that doesn't prohibit such weapons. There is no federal law that restricts who may own this weapon, except a felon, or where it can be owned. The six chambered cylinder is bored straight through and though it was originally meant for the .38 Long Colt, the military revolver round, but it will chamber the .38 Special. WARNING, the steel used to create this revolver is not as strong as today's gun steel. It should not be fired with anything more powerful than standard pressure ammunition. The original hard rubber grip panels are worn somewhat smooth, The barrel length is 4.25 inches which is a length used with civilian revolver not the five inches issued on military weapons. The fixed sites are a half moon front blade with a grooved top strap as a rear site..The finish is at about 92% blue. The single action and the double action function perfectly. The trigger pull is smooth and the cylinder locks up well without any endshake. I would not hesitate to fire this one hundred and nineteen year old revolver with the proper ammunition. I am not aware of any state that requires this revolver to be transferred thru an FFL dealer but it is your responsibility to see that you obey the local and state law where you are located.
