This offering is a thoroughly traditional, Savage-manufactured Stevens model 94-C .410 ga Single Shot, 3 inch chamber, Full Choke, 26 inch barrel shotgun. Choke constriction is a tight .380. We classify it as traditional because the breech lever is directly behind the hammer, in distinction from H&R’s innovation, and even Savage’s innovation, of the side levers beginning in the 1960s. This one also has the classic-line grooves on the side of the chamber area of its barrel. Another plus for this shotgun is its color casehardened receiver. This shotgun had may even date from the 1950s. This rshotgun is in Very Good Condition by our estimate. The reddish colored, tight-grained stock and forend have generous remnants of their original glossy finish with some 50 percent light surface wear frm normal handling and weathering. The main detractions to the wood are on the pistol grip area, a short hairline crack directly behind the right side of the receiver, a similar one on the left side. Neither shows any separation. Color casehardening is weak but visible on the receiver, and strong on the back end of the forend metal. Trigger guard is mostly flat gray, but the trigger retains much of its original bright blue. The barrel itself approaches excellent condition by virtue of its nearly full strength bluing. Bore and chamber are excellent, as is the mechanism.
