Here is an excellent little Nixon-era piece that we traded off one of our favorite local retired lawmen. This is a High Standard Derringer, chambered in .22 Magnum caliber, with the crinkled matte finish on its alloy grip frame, and blue steel barrel assembly and mechanism. Its chief surface detraction is abou a square inch of spotty residue area on the right side of the barrel over the Hamden logo. That is nothing but good honest casework sweat from Tennessee and Mississippi; after all, Governors Dunn and Waller, excellent administrators though they were, did not cure either state's problems altogether, and we still needed solid Federal Law Enforcement, hence the sweat marking. Other detractions only amount to faint to moderate whitening on the sharp edges. We rate this derringer as Very Good, since about 80 percent of its finish is still intact by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. Note the excellent condition of the grips, and the bores, chambers, and mechanism are all excellent as well. Barrels are 3 5/8 inches from breech face to muzzle; action is a stiff double action only, around 12-15 pounds of trigger pull, and therein lies the safety feature. Weight empty is just under 12 ounces. Its lightness and flatness are what made this Derringer so popular. Barrels are only 0.42 inches thick; frame is 0.632 thick; and the maximum thickness of the grips is still under an inch at 0.977. Note the Wild West style font on the Derringer label on left side of barrel; even though these were ultra modern at the time, the Company still credited the old Remington Derringers for their inspiration. We're offering this good, solid, seasoned local High Standard for only $ 339.95
