Here is a well maintained, little fired veteran of the War on Terror, the Taurus PT915 stainless lightweight 9mm. The 915 shows more German influence than its PT92 ancestors. Type is locked breech traditional double and single action semi-automatic pistol. Manufacturer is Forjas Taurus S.A. or Porto Alegre, Brazil. Construction is stainless steel barrel, slide and steel internal parts mounted on a polished alloy frame. Chambering is 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9x19, call it what you will, THE 9mm. Barrel is 4 inch six groove 1: 9.84 right hand rifling. Slide is squared type with rear serrations, polished sides and matte uppers. Spring guide rod is full length stainless steel. Sights are black anodized 3 dot type, stake on dot front and dovetailed drift adjustable rear. Grip frame is traditional and serrated fore and aft, yet thinned on the order of the Beretta Vertec pistols. Magazine is factory blued steel, capacity is 15 rounds, 15+1 total capacity, and any Taurus 92/99 magazine will fit into this pistol. Ambidextrous Frame Mounted Safety levers also serve as decockers, to safely return the hammer to its resting, double-action-ready position. The pistol, like all Tauruses with frame mounted safeties, is also capable of cocked-and-locked, single-action-first-shot carry. Overall length is 7 inches from muzzle to grip frame strut. Height is 5 inches from the magazine floorplate to the top of the rear sight. Slide thickness is 1.1 inches at the port. Weight empty is 27 ounces with center of gravity at the breech face. This particular specimen has served and protected the citizens of Israel with the Mishteret Y’Israel, the Israeli Civilian Police, in Beer-sheva. It bears the marking of RETA Supply Company in Beer Sheva. It also bears a reimport stamp of Century Arms. These were only briefly manufactured in the interim from their introduction in 1999 until the internal lock was added in 2002 and the model number changed to PT 911. Surface detractions are only moderate, with moderate amounts of holster buffing mostly on the sharp edges, and light inconspicuous scouring at places on the sides of the slide and on the grip panels. We rate it as Very Good, 75 to 80 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate it has been fired fewer than 500 times. Current replacement pricing on the PT 911 is upwards of $500 per unit in our area, if a person can even find one.
