HG5188 Since Taurus introduced its 1911 Pistol in mid 2005, it has claimed much of the Single Action Auto market, and gained a well deserved reputation for quality and accuracy. This is the matte stainless finish variant, product code number 1-191109. This 1911 is in its original box with its barrel wrench, two keys for its internal hammer lock, Bushing wrench, and total of three factory Taurus 8-round magazines. It has the original gloss polymer Taurus grip panels and installed has Hogue Combat wrap-around grips. Construction is entirely stainless steel, including the frame with serrated front grip and XSE style slide that is serrated fore and aft. Factory specs on this model are as follows. Single action only semi-auto pistol, .45 ACP caliber. 5 inch barrel; Novak style three dot combat sights; polished feed ramp; lowered ejection port; ambidextrous safety; beavertail memory pad grip safety; two sets of grips with blue steel allen hex screws; full length guide rod with rod bushing; ventilated match anodized alloy trigger with overtravel adjustment; 8 + 1 capacity; extended ambidextrous safety; extended magazine release; beveled magazine well; Commander style hammer with Taurus patented internal lock; matte blue finish; and 40 ounces weight empty. This specimen's only surface detractions are minimal. It has very faint slide and bushing contact on the barrel surface, and faint amounts of buffing on its matte finish slide. We rate it as Excellent, since no more than 5 to 10 percent of its surfaces are affected in our estimate; photos, however, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. From our knowledge of this pistol and its owner, it has been fired fewer than 400 times.
