Excellent bore, bright and shiny with sharp rifling - smooth action - perfect mechanics. Barrel retains about 80% + thinning blue - receiver about 75% blue partly drifting to a dark patina - metal is excellent with no rust or pitting - excellent screws - original sights. Wood retains about 90% + finish - buttstock has a nicely repaired crack in the toe area that is perfectly sound. A very nice original and well above average old 3rd model 1873 with special order 1/2 magazine and in the very desirable .44 caliber - .will letter.
