Krejcí Sedlcany) roughly translates to "A. Tailor of Sedlcany" so we interpret that to be the basic signature of the gunsmith (named "A. Tailor). This places the origin of the shotgun to the Austro-Hungarian Empire - the modern-day Czech Republic - and a region about 50k south of Prague. As well, the crown and name on the trigger guard lead us to believe that the gun started off in the hands of some type of noble. The amount of detail on this gun is amazing. The butt plate is carved horn and the 29.5" barrels are Damascus steel, chambered for a 2.5" shell - not safe for modern ammunition. As for the engravings, let the photos speak for themselves. We have not shot this gun and make no claims to it's actual function. All parts appear to be in good working order but we do not advise shooting this gun unless and until it is checked out and approved for shooting by a gunsmith knowledgeable in this type of firearm.
