This is a pattern 1909 Argentine bayonet manufactured by the German company of "Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co. Solingen" [on the Left Ricasso], for use with the German manufactured Argentine 1909 rifle. The bayonet and the scabbard have matching numbers.
On the Right Ricasso, the inscription "Modelo Argentino 1909" is marked. On the Left Ricasso, "Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co. Solingen" is inscribed. The blade has been sharpened. There does not appear to be any sign of rust on the blade.
What I find annoying is the absence of information on the net regarding Argentine military proof marks. The mystery of this bayonet is the absence of information about the numerous proof marks. The easy mark is the Argentine crest on the inside handle. On the handle butt is the proof of "RD" in a circle. That I find is a Republic of Argentina inspector mark. The remainder of proof marks go unexplained. There is an "A" under an "x" on the top of the blade, on the scabbard is an "x" inside a "D" over a cross hair inside a circle. Looking into the scabbard, left side of opening is an "E", on the right side is the cross hair inside circle proof. All of this will give the new owner a lot of research.
