16th - 17th Century North African Mid East Snaphance Rifle
This is an Antique circa. 16th-early 17th century Snaphance or Snaphaunce Rifle. Snaphance is a particular type of firing mechanism that formed the firing progression between the wheel-lock firing mechanism and the flintlock firing mechanism. The snaphance was used from the late 1550s until modern times (in North African guns), but by about 1680 it was out of fashion everywhere. This Rifle is 60" (5 feet) long with a 46" .50 caliber round steel barrel. The Stock is solid with many decorative Ivory, bone inlays and almost complete engraving of all the metal surfaces as seen in the photos. There are scratches, and dings from years of service with some minor losses and cracks in the wood. A large portion of the ram rod had broken off and is lost. The hammer appears to stuck in the forward position but may be a function in the mechanism where with the snaphance, the cock can only be at full-cock or down. The details of this example are so extensive I am relying on a host of photos to describe. Due to the length for packaging the cost of shipping and insurance will be $43. No FFL license is required.

Payment options: Payment made using USPS Money Orders will ship as soon as payment and required paperwork arrives. Due to recent increased use of Counterfeit Cashier’s Checks, these payments will be held for bank clearance prior to shipping. Personal and business checks are also gladly accepted, however may delay shipping 2 weeks for bank clearance (We know the good checks clear faster, however, bank are sometimes slow in notification of a returned check).
