I would say gun has 40-50% bluing, but if you count the areas were the bluing has turned brown, than maybe as high as 60%. The is very little finish around the slide area, above the slide, and behind the rear sight, edges on receiver also lacks finish, as well as area near serial number, both on receiver and frame. Stock had been cracked, and repaired neatly, but current finish on stock is wrong, and doesn't match forearm. Gun functions, shoot well, and is very actuate. Barrel had a lot of rifling, with very little to no pitting. There are a few short and light scratches on barrel and on receiver. There is also one very small nick on the barrel as well. If you have a Winchester 1890, and don't like to shoot it because how dirty it gets because of the slits between the frame and receiver, you will love how Remington fixed that problem. The guns is still a take down model, but fits snugly with no gaps or wiggle, and also has a safety, and the magazine tube has a little push button, that allows it to slide out easily. While I would never give up my Winchester 1890, I certainly would love shooting this Remington model 12a quite a bit better.
