Serial number on this .357 Ladysmith is BPW, a fortunate coincidence for some of our best women's organizations, dating its manufacture to the Year 1994. As far as specs, it has a 3 inch heavy barrel, round butt grip frame, a distinctive shrouded ejector rod; satin stainless finish, .312 beveled edge Satin Stainless trigger and .265 Satin Stainless Service Hammer. Weight empty is 31 ounces. Grips appear to be original, possibly as special order variant. They are Combat style Walnut, factory S&W, with speedloader or thumbrest cuts on both panels. This Ladysmith shows no blast effect at all to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel's forcing cone, and we detect very faint cylinder face blacking on all three. We believe it is unfired, but it came to us from a Texas Estate Sale, so we are unable to verify that. It has a period appropriate but relabeled flat blue box with blue hinges, a period correct manual, and factory Nox paper. With its grips, original 65-5 variant designation, and mint condition, this is one of the rarest and most desireable recent production Smith & Wessons on the market.
