Browning B25/P4 Custom Superposed 20 GAUGE sn60570 v0 - ANGELO BEE CREATION!
The Browning Superposed has always had a devoted following. By the 1970's Browning realized there was no profit in keeping the gun in production. Beginning in 1977, the Superposed was offered as custom order in the Presentation series, and later in the 1980's as the B-25. The Presentation guns were ornate, but the hand engraving of years past was replaced with acid etching for all but the top grade, the P4, which was entirely hand engraved by FN master engravers. This fine Superposed, sn60570 v0, was created by Angelo Bee and his team of ex-FN factory employees. Angelo Bee is a world renowned engraver, known first as a Belgium Browning engraver and now as a custom gun engraver from Southern California. Vintage Firearms is privileged to offer a number of Angelo's creations of fine Browning Superposed Custom Grades. Angelo utilizes past FN/Browning employees for the creation of these masterpieces, so these are true Browning with some of the work done in Belgium, some in Angelo's shop in California. With only 67 20 ga. P4's produced by Browning, owning a Superposed of this quality would be near impossible if it weren't for Angelo. Best of all, Angelo guns have all of the best options and the finest workmanship. The 26 3/8" barrels retains 100% blue, mirror bores, .621/622 internal bore diameter, choked SK/IC (.004/.006, marked IC/M), minimum wall thickness 32 thou bottom, 37 thou top, no pits, dings, or dents, 2 3/4" chambers, ribs tight, file cut top rib, barrels tight on breech face and hinge pin like a new gun, a perfect set of barrels for upland birds or your favorite clays game.
The coin finished, side-plated action is bulino engraved with north woods scene on left side with 2 large raised gold grouse in flight and third in bulino style, 2 large raised gold quail in flight with a 3rd in bulino style on the right side, a gorgeous Spaniel with woodcock on the bottom, signed by Angelo Bee and Claudia Perfido, pierced top lever, action tight with lever right of center, perfect screws, checkered single selective trigger breaks crisply at 6lbs. bottom, 7lbs. top, highly engraved long tang trigger guard, all in perfect mechanical order.
The exhibition dark, burly walnut stock and 3 PIECE FOREND are deeply carved and checkered to perfection, oil finish, drop points, skip line checkered butt, perfect wood to metal fit, no cracks or repairs, a few light handling marks, round knob pistol grip, 14 1/4" LOP, 2" drop at heel, 1 3/8" drop at comb, neutral cast (can be bent to your specs within 14 days of purchase), an OUTSTANDING, GORGEOUS SET OF WOOD.
This work of art weighs 6lbs. and balances perfectly on the hinge pin. Perfectly choked for your upland pursuits and sporting clays, it is hard to imagine a more striking, tastefully decorated shotgun.
