Description: This is a Colt Single Action Army revolver (serial #284100) with a Mexican flair, in .32 WCF, with 4.75" barrel, all matching numbers and original nickel finish. About 10% of the original nickel finish remains. The mechanics are good, with reasonable lock up, very nice bore and hand crafted Mexican silver grips. Where the nickel has gone, the metal is generally pitted and the gun has been brushed to remove rust at some point. It is a pretty good example of a southwestern using gun kept in good working condition. (The Colt was originally shipped with two other guns to Simmons Hardware, October 20, 1906. Letter will accompany gun.)

The Colt is holstered in a complete vintage rig, holster and cartridge belt, made in Mexico. The leather work is called piteado, and piteado is a Mexican artisan technique where pita or ixtle (thread, or the spun fibers, made from the agave plant) is embroidered onto leather in decorative patterns. Hand embroidering just a regular belt may require about 48 hours of labor. The technique is also used to make sandals, saddles and other leather accessories. The belt holds 45 cartridges and both belt and holster are in extremely good condition. The belt measures 32" to the nearest hole and 37.25" to the furthest.
