Rossi 92 .357/ 38 Spcl. Braztech Trapper model (Winchester 92 clone) with 16 inch barrel. This is a 2012 manufacture date, is registered with Rossi, and has the majority of a one-year warranty left. This model is well-known for a sturdy top ejection system, and also has a hammer block safety mounted on top of the bolt. The exposed hammer also has the traditional half cock position of the original Winchester.
Capacity of either cartridge is 8 + 1 in the chamber and it will chamber and feed everything from round, to flat, to hollow point bullets. I recently purchased a low semi-buckhorn rear sight that opens up the sight picture better and is the correct height to sight in very well at 25 yards. I aligned the windage so bullets will hit where intended at 25 yards with a tight group; 50 yds. a more normal spread. With the new sight, 38’s hit about an inch low at 25, and .357’s can hit spot on. A good peep sight can also be easily added.
I also just sanded and re-finished the stock and forearm with five coats of Tru-Oil, a known quality gun stock finish. The pictures may not do it justice, but it is a much nicer finish than you will ever see on a stock model.
This gun if loaded with 38 special rounds would make an excellent home defense choice. Out of the 16 inch barrel one gets all the increase in velocity and energy you will get out of these revolver cartridges: up to 40-50% more than a 4 inch revolver. Despite that, the recoil is very mild in 38 Spcl. and not bad with the .357’s. This would also make an excellent ranch or brush gun for deer.
I am only seeking to recover what I have put into it to make it an attractive piece and a good shooter. It must be shipped to your FFL dealer. Gun comes with original box, Rossi hammer-locking device to child-proof it, and the original rear semi-buckhorn sight.
