I am the original owner and I have had the Sig M2 since 2002. I have not used it much at the range. It has had approximately 1000 rounds fired. It is an easy gun to handle and shoot. I have always used Winchester FMJ new rounds, never reloads. The Sig Mauser is in excellent condition and shows almost no real wear. Details Below: (copied off Sig's website) The compact Mauser M2 features a double-action-only, striker-fired operating system and rotary barrel. The M2 operates with a half-cocked loading action to reduce striker tension. Safety systems include an optional external manual safety, a firing-pin safety that releases only when the trigger is fully pulled, a disconnector and a loaded chamber indicator. Mauser, the oldest name in semi-automatic pistols, is proud to introduce a pistol designed for personal protection for home defense or as a concealed carry for the private citizen at an affordable price. The M2 by Mauser could arguably be called "the safest handgun on the market today". Several safety features are integrated into the M2's design. The pistol features a loaded chamber indicator on top of the slide, which provides a visual indication that a round is present in the firing chamber. The pistol's magazine disconnect is designed to prevent the pistol from being fired with the magazine removed from the pistol, even if a live round remains in the chamber.
