It is a very hard wood displaying brilliant colors of orange, red & brown with amazing black stripes, all swirled uniquely together as its trademark. 

The Ruger Vaquero made from 1 is the XR3-RED Model. This is easily determined as XR3-RED is stamped in the grip frame under the grips. 

Simply remove the grips to determine if your Model applies.
