Already have an account? Login Contact Seller Description: I bought this dagger at a gun show when I was 16 years old. I am now 76 years old and this dagger has been in my possession for the last 60 years. I am not a expert about WWII collectables, but over the years I have shown this dagger to several individuals who claim to be experts and have learned the following about this dagger. #1 it is an original period piece and not a reproduction. #2 it is standard German Army configuration. #3 the dress hanger is correct color and design for the dagger. #4 one side of the blade has the standard Army dagger etching. #4 on the other side of the blade is the standard German Air Force pattern etching. These are all facts; however the unknown is why this dagger has both the Army and the Air Force pattern on the blade. The best explanation I've heard is that the owner served time in both the German Army and the German Air Force and was therefore qualified to have both patterns. The dagger has been worn and repeated sliding in and out of the scabbard has worn the etching. The handle and metal parts of the dagger are undamaged and in good condition. The only fault I can find is a slight dent on the back side of the scabbard (see photos). I don't know any further history about this unusual dagger therefore, I am offering it with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
