S&W 9mm 5926 Stainless Decocker 16 Shot with 1 Magazine Production Satin Trigger & Hammer

            This listing is for the exact pistol in the photos. Here is one of Smith & Wesson’s scarcest standard production pistols, the 5926. Manufacturer was Smith & Wesson of Springfield, MA, from 1990 until only 1993. From its THB serial number prefix, it was manufactured in 1992. Construction is entirely steel metal, with polymer magazine floorplate, decocker tab, grips, magazine safety buffer, and cartridge follower. Caliber is 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9x19, call it what you will, THE 9mm. Type is traditional double and single action locked breech semi automatic pistol with decocking lever. Barrel is 4 inch Devel type with ball joint muzzle collar that ensures accuracy and facilitates disassembly. Rifling is five groove right hand 1:18.75. Slide is serrated rear, .925 wide at the port; with left side decocking lever for right handed shooters. Slide also houses the firing pin and magazine safeties: the 5906 will not fire single shot with no magazine. Sights are steel dovetailed front and rear; dot front with two dot combat rear that is drift adjustable only for windage. Hammer is .245 serrated bobbed, with .304 smooth combat trigger that pulls double action 12 pound vicinity with 1 inch of travel on the first shot, or two stage 1/2 inch travel single action, 6 pound vicinity on subsequent shots with minimal felt creep and overtravel. Hammer stays cocked until the operator engages the decocker. Trigger guard is cleat serrated round faced third type, and serrated grip frame front strap. Magazine release is gunsmith reversable, right hand shooter. Magazine is original factory issue Pre-Ban 15 shot. Overall length is 7 1/2 inches from muzzle to grip frame strut, 5 3/8 inch height. Weight empty is 37 ounces, with center of gravity at the magazine release. This 5906 served overseas, attest the importer mark on the trigger guard. Finish is original satin stainless steel, with satin chrome trigger and hammer, and with original matte blue sights. We have refilled the white dots in their sights. Surface detractions are moderate, principally lateral holster streaking and contact wear to the slide sides. Grips are original. We rate this 5926 as Very Good Condition, 80 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate this 5926 was fired fewer than 1500 times, no rounds at all for a 5900.
