This listing is for the exact pistol in the photos. Here is one of Smith & Wesson's best and brightest, the 6904 descendant of the Mini. From its VAC serial number prefix, it was manufactured in 1994, the seventh year of a run that began in 1988. Caliber is 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9x19, call it what you will, THE 9mm. Type is traditional double and single action locked breech semi automatic pistol. Construction is steel barrel, slide assembly, internal parts, sights, trigger, hammer, levers, magazine body and innards, all built into a lightweight alloy frame. Only the grips, Mag safety plunger bushing, and magazine floorplate and follower are polymer. Barrel is distinctive ball joint muzzle for consistency and accuracy. Bore is 5 groove right hand 1:18.75 stainless, 3 1/2 inch. Slide is serrated rear, .925 wide at the port; with ambidextrous safety levers that also decock the pistol. Slide also houses the firing pin and magazine safeties: the 6906 will not fire single shot with no magazine. Sights are matte blue steel dovetailed front and rear; dot front with two dot Novak combat rear that is drift adjustable only for windage. Hammer is .262 factory bobbed, with .304 smooth combat trigger. Double action first shot pulls at a smooth 11 pound vicinity with 1 inch of travel, with minimal felt creep and overtravel. Single action pull is two stage 6 1/2 pounds with negligible felt creep and minimal overtravel. Trigger guard is cleat serrated round faced third type, and serrated grip frame front strap. Magazine furnished is an original pre-ban factory 12 rounder, blue bodied with black follower and tailpiece. Magazine release is gunsmith reversable, right hand shooter. Grip is original factory polymer one piece, 1.26 inch thickness at the centers. Overall length is 7 inches from muzzle to grip frame strut, 5 1/4 inch height. Weight empty is 27 ounces, with center of gravity at the magazine release. Finish is matte blued slide assembly, with semi gloss black anodized framer; and with matte black levers, sights, trigger, and hammer. This 6906 comes from foreign service, attest the importer marking on its trigger guard. Surface detractions are negligible; only faint occasional edge wear. We rate it as Excellent, 90 to 95 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate it has actually been fired fewer than 500 rounds. The last 6900 Smith & Wesson produced sold for upwards of $1000; similar Sig P229 series well over $1000. Not transferable to civilian residents of California or Massachusetts. For civilian buyers in jurisdictions where 12 round magazines are restricted, we will sub a new Mec-Gar 10 rounder, or $20 off with no magazine. Includes Connecticut, District of Colombia, Hawaii, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Washington. We had a good stock of 10 rounders at press time, $29.90 each; Add 17 Round Extended Mec-Gar with Grip adapter only $41.00.
