Listed for sale is a Colt 1851 Navy Pistol.  .36 Cal.

Pistol is completely operational.  Mechanical excellent.  Cylinders rotate perfectly.  Cylinder locks up beautiful. Pistol has seen service.  Produced in 1869 I believe.  ALL serial Numbers Match on All parts including wedge, however, The Ram Rod is not numbered.  Looks same patina as rest of pistol.  Only part without number.  Exterior dented and dings but NOT RUSTED.  Has Original grips.  Bore is dark.  Has Good rifling but dark.  Front sight is a period correct sight. Does not have the brass pin which wore off. This was produced during the last year's of production before the 1873 Peace Maker. Some fitted with blade sight. Cylinder scene 80% to 90% or more visible.  Probably Close to 90%.  Has small patch of pitting near serial number on cylinder.  Only real spot of pitting I see on the pistol.  Grips original and worn.

All metal stampings intact including one line address on barrel.  One curious thing.  This pistol is .36.  ALL numbers Match but frame is marked "44 cal".  This was done in error.  The Colt 1860 Army and 1851 Navy are large frame and produced at same facility. They stamped it wrong.  Should have been .36 Cal. The 44 cal pistol with this serial number was made years before this one.  Could not have been mismatched with another pistol.  Curious Mistake.
