USED 10 ga side by side with very little finish left.
Here we present an antique C.G. Bonehill 10 Gauge Double Barrel Shotgun, made circa 1880 in Birmingham, England. Christopher George Bonehille was an English gun maker who was born in 1831 and apprenticed under a man by the name of Aston from 1. He began his own business in 1851, primarily making fine shotguns. According to one source on Bonehill, he was responsible for bringing the concept of interchangeable parts to mainstream in England, though the practice was well-established in the United States. This made manufacture more efficient, and therefore cheaper. It also made repair more straight forward.
This fine double gun is in 10 gauge and has 32 inch barrels. The lock is nicely engraved and is marked “C.G. BONEHILL” on either side. The top of the barrel rib is also marked “C.G. BONEHILL LONDON LAMINATED STEEL”. Bead front sight.
The overall condition is very good. The steel parts are dark with age. The markings are clear and legible. The stock is in good condition. The butt stock appears to be an old replacement. The bores are smooth and clean, with pin pricking. The actions are strong. Here is a nice double for your collection. We have powder, primers, brass and bullets available as well, call to inquire.
