Century Arms just announced the availability of the Canik TP9 Elite Sub Compact pistol for the U.S. market. These guns have earned a reputation for delivering with the performance and features of first-tier products at very competitive prices.
The TP9 Elite Subcompact is a pared-down version of the popular TP9 Elite, and they have a lot in common starting with the basic design. The TP9 Elite Subcompact is a polymer-framed, striker-fired service pistol at heart, with a compact slide and barrel assembly and chopped grip.
Chambered for 9mm Luger, the TP9 Elite SC has a 12+1-round capacity with flush magazines and a 15+1-round capacity with extended mags. Each pistol ships with one 12-round and one 15-round magazine.
Other features include ambidextrous controls with dual slide release levers and a reversible magazine button. Like many striker-fired pistols the TP9 SC has no manual safety and a passive trigger safety.
One premium touch is that the slide is machined for an optional mini red dot optic. It also has front and rear serrations and a loaded chamber indicator.
The steel components have a black nitride and Cerakote tungsten two-tone finish along with all black polymer components. It has a blacked-out rear notch sight and a front photo-luminescent dot front sight.
Like a lot of modern pistols the TP9 Elite SC has a modular frame with a railed dust cover and interchangeable backstrap grip. It comes with a small and large backstrap standard, along with the two mags.
Overall it measures in at 6.7 inches long, 4.6 inches tall with a flush magazine and 1.4 inches wide at the controls. It weighs just under 25 ounces unloaded and is available and shipping now with a suggested price of just $429.

That means it’s possible to get a polymer-framed striker-fired double-stack that’s optics-read with a great set of features starting in the upper $300 range. It might take a little deal-hunting but the $429 MSRP suggests that real-world and online pricing will be under $400.
