CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota was apparently shocked to learn that the suspect in the nightclub shooting over the weekend in Colorado Springs is non-binary, also known as genderqueer.
Camerota reported the news on-air Tuesday night, citing documents filed in court by the suspect’s attorneys.
“They use they-them pronouns, and for the purposes of all formal filings, will be addressed as Mx. A******,” the court document reads.
“I don’t know what to say about that,” says Camerota. That’s not anything that we had heard from his background. People have been looking into his background… I don’t know what to say about that. That’s what he’s now saying.”
CNN Political Commentator Errol Louis chimed in, “It sounds like they’re trying to prepare a defense against a hate crime now. That’s the least of his (sic) problems now, legally speaking.”

The defendant is accused of shooting 19 people in the attack at Club Q, an LGBTQ+ nightclub, on November 19-20.
Five of the victims died during the melee. They have been identified as Raymond Green Vance, Kelly Loving, Daniel Aston, Derrick Rump, and Ashley Paugh.
The suspect now faces five counts of first-degree murder and five counts of a bias-motivated crime causing bodily injury, and at least 10 other felonies according to the El Paso County Court’s online docket.

Users on Twitter were quick to criticize CNN, suggesting that this latest development bucks the network’s desired narrative that the perp is a right-wing radical.
Now that the shooter is known to be non binary & goes by they/them pronouns it changes the narrative of the Right wing shooter driven by hate by Right wing rhetoric. Instead of just reporting the new developments it’s openly mocked & dismissed. The narrative must stay on course

They start to say that he’s just pretending he’s non-binary to get a lighter sentence .. until they realise that’s considered a ‘transphobic’ comment that they blame the ‘far right’ for using, which they’ve just spent two days saying is what motivated the killer

Wait now it’s ok to question being nonbinary? Funny the narrative changes all the time on the left. I thought all women should be believed when claiming they have been sexually assaulted or harassed then that changed for Franken and Cuomo. Now they are questioning this persons sexual claims? Wow. They said it was a hate crime prior to them even knowing the motive so what does that tell you?

Ohhhh, so he can’t suffer from the mental illness of “non Binary,” he must be trying to plan a defense. Dang, and he used a handgun and not a gun that looks like a “weapon of war.” This whole thing is going off track for the social justice warriors.
So, isn’t “non-binary” another form of gender dysphoria? That, in and of itself, means that this person has a mental disorder that should disqualify them from purchasing a firearm legally.

The fact that this guy has gender dysphoria psychosis fits a developing pattern. So many similar/identical examples:
Walmart guy, highland park guy, El Paso guy, Dayton Ohio guy. And these are just the first few that immediately came to mind without doing any research.
Perhaps the issue is with untreated psychotic people running around loose.
It’s irritating and alarming (to me) to observe people react to this. It’s not merely a matter of CNN backpedaling a story. This SHOULD be the sort of thing that makes people ANGRY. They HAVE been saying the allege-ee used “an ar-15 type long gun” and a pistol, the pistol being the one the mil vet used to beat him up with, which suggests the pistol type was unfamiliar to him or his training would have taken over on posession of the pistol, and its not being in an effective retention type holster

I think the anchor was saying that she did not feel any differently after learning the shooter was non-binary, not that her paradigm could not handle the new information? Also, this is 2022, enbys can be anything they want, even fascists and right-wing terrorists.
Colorado has some pretty strong gun violence laws but they also have a bunch of sherrifs that brag about not enforcing those rules and being sanctuary counties. What was the weapon used? Colorado doesn’t have an AWB. Honestly, in this sort of target-rich environment, a short pump 12 ga shotgun would probably be more effective but those aren’t glorified in violent video games the way MSRs and assault weapons are.

No sir you are incorrect. The anchor is saying they don’t believe that this person is nonbinary and the anchor is claiming it is made up to get out of it being classified as a hate crime. They claimed early on prior to knowing the motive it was a hate crime and now that claim is in peril. The anchor is speechless because they went full on blaming the right for this and now that may not be the case.
You’re correct on why AR’s are used and that’s because the left and media claim them to be the most deadly guns there are. We have them to thank for the rise in these guns being used and the increase in mass shootings.

Alotta Sheriffs are doing that but you are only concerned with the ones that decline to enforce anti 2A laws. There are standing declarations where one Sheriff Tom Dart refuses to enforce immigration laws or evict renters who refuse pay up. I bet that in those certain times you are all in and support your local Sheriff, right? So it cuts both way and in my view the Demshevics started the sanctuary waivers and conservative Sheriffs that have a hang up with the US Constitution refused to obey an order they view as unlawful.
